If he does this to a 70+ score, it will be a bit reminiscent of Pietersen's debutI mean, you gotta admire the balls

No it wouldn't. Well it might be for you, but we desperately need batsmen who can put on big scores. And I don't see this being sustainable.Be funny if this ruins Konstas' career.
Exactly. This type of batting is why I don't watch T20. Pretty soon bowlers will respond by just utilizing seventeen slower balls. Please don't ruin Test cricket.

Welcome to the Bazball era. What the actual **** is this?
Unfortunately, given the popularity of IPL, you're in the majority here. Not for people like me though, and that's fine I suppose.Tell me what's wrong with this future? I don't see a problem
Nothing about being old, just about appreciating the final bastion of proper cricket.Haha India's chances have dropped like a rock in the betting markets.
This isn't fun - not because it's happening to the team I support - but I'd much rather see the same score with beautiful, proper cricket shots.
I'm becoming an old man.
The problem is he might have gotten the idea into his head he needs to follow the first of your sentences. If this is how he plans his whole test career to be -- it'll fail. It won't work.
If this is how he wants to play his first test innings -- that's fine imo
From a players perspective - of course. But at some point, the product no longer becomes worth watching. For me anyway, but obviously people love stuff like this, and fair play to them.Proper cricket is whatever you do to win matches you cantankerous fools.
