What makes you think that we can chase 250+ in MCG in 4th innings, when no team has done it for last 60 years ?
Aus made 231/2 easily in 2013. A terrible west indies side made 282 in the 4th innings in 2015. Aus made 263/4 on day 5 in 2017. Aus made 261 in 2018.

A 250 chase here would be unders if anything

What a crazy day and what a great Test match. Reading about the drops and wondering if they came at pivotal times and how bad they were?

Also wonder if India are better off with a target 40 runs higher than batting today and being two down. But the real point seems to be that they had Australia on the ropes and let them escape. From an Aussie point off view the batting pre-collapse appears to have been turgid (80 off 33 overs) and maybe without purpose, unless it was just brilliant bowling.

India now reliant on an absolute worldy innings from someone, it's hard to see this team making regular contributions through the order.

Said before the combination of great individual players and very flawed teams is tailor made for drama.

What if he ends up with the same number of wickets as Marshall but at a better average? Will that make him the GREATEST EVER?
Perhaps not because people generally take more test wickets today, for some reason. I will put Bumrah in top 5 of all time, if he gets to 350 with an average of ~22.5 or under

If Australia bat on tomorrow they'll roll the pitch and then roll it again before India bat. Isn't it better for Australia if they declare overnight so pitch is only rolled once?

Genuine question, not sure how much difference it will make on this pitch?
Why would you give India a 20%+ chance of winning (they're 6.4 now) when you have a chance to decrease that?
If they can somehow chip 15-20 more runs in 20-30 minutes that makes it just so much tougher.

Because this pitch is flat as, Stark looked less than comfortable in the first innings, and there's nothing there for the spinners.

Don't get me wrong chasing 250 would be very difficult, and India would probably be slight underdogs. But it's incomparable to chasing 150 at wankhede on a rank turner.
Saying the pitch is flat as is literally contrary to nearly every over bowled by a quick on day four.

I'm not saying it won't be flat tomorrow - entirely possible that India were able to extract something passing on the day - but it absolutely wasn't for most of today. Some of the balls moved viciously off the seam and the bounce wasn't especially consistent.
