Ishant and Stone have 5 of the 20 wickets to fall, but sure, carry on the lies.Suppose I rate them because they give seam bowlers a shot before flattening rather than roads which don’t or decks like this where they’re basically superfluous.
It’s an inferior skill.why is opening with a spin bowler bad? So you dont consider spin as a skill in cricket?
If yes, then stop watching any match where a spinner is playing.. watch baseball ffs. ?
Lol 1/4 of the wickets. Whoop de ****ing doIshant and Stone have 5 of the 20 wickets to fall, but sure, carry on the lies.
Probably drop him for Bairstow next test then.**** me, we just conceded byes.
This pitch is exactly like the Mumbai wicket we played England in 2016. There is good turn, good bounce and good pace on the wicket and most importantly, it is CONSISTENT all through. If you are not good enough to play here, its mostly down to skill.I mean I wouldn't want pitches like this all the time but they're definitely something I don't mind seeing every now and then. They're certainly a much more interesting contest than horrible roads where the main wicket taker is S. Pressure but that the ICC seems to think are fine.
Just smash him back over his head ffs. But this time unironically.I genuinely cannot understand how Gill just hit Moeen for six? Must be one of the greatest shots of all time to hit a six on this crumbling minefield.
Sure. India batted first thinking par was 225.Nope, they should have bundled out India for 200-250. Plenty of turn on offer. Leach is good, Mo could have done a little better, and may be a third spinner would have helped.
No, we are saying the pitch is the same and is consistent for both sides. You guys are getting spooked by the dust and the top layer exploding but the red soil lower layer will keep the pitch together fine. Bounce, turn and pace are all consistent so far.Are people above saying that the pitch is going to improve as the game goes on ?
I think they'll play another quick in place of Bess. Can see Woakes coming into the equation or potentially Stone keeping his placeSo next test we will probably go with
Sibley
Crawley
Bairstow
Root
Stokes
Pope
Foakes
Bess
Leach
Broad/Archer/Wood/Stone
Anderson
Yep. Have no idea what the day night match will actually be like.Oh dear, although if you said we would be going 1-1 going into the day night test I would’ve bitten your hand off.
Probably so. Broad vs the quicks is a tough call, one which I couldn't begin to make with any certainty. So next test we will probably go with
Sibley
Crawley
Bairstow
Root
Stokes
Pope
Foakes
Bess
Leach
Broad/Archer/Wood/Stone
Anderson
Nothing problematic about repeatedly implying Indian cities smell bad despite being told that people are uncomfortable with it. Nothing to see here folks.A billion people living rent free in his head.
Ignoring the pile of salt in this post, lets concentrate on the lies.Lol no it isn’t unfair to the team batting first at all. Anymore than this pitch is unfair to a side batting last which gets skittled for 100. The difference is a pitch which starts green showcases a diversity of skills across the game. If a pitch goes through the top and rags from day one, you rule out one of the skill sets in the game.
it’s why pitches like this are inferior and historically have led to side which dish them out being inferior too
no they have been surprisingly great in match threadsThe English whinged when mighty Somerset produced turners and now they're whinging again.
