No, you never seem to when incompetent officals gift you points - it must be now getting on for double figures in points gained this season.
I wont deny that was a comnplete howler, but I didn't say anything when Ashley Cole went playing basketball in his area, and there have been a few other Arsenal or Chelsea ones.

But anyway, I do not deny that that was a blatant goal.

Right, so an official who's standing forty metres away from the goal with his view blocked by Carroll can clearly see that is a goal...along with the linesman who's trying to see it from 50 metres away with his eyes level with the situation... 8-)
Agreed completely.

I really don't think any officials can be blamed, although it was a goal ofcourse.

So you dont think he would turn down Chelsea when he says so in the public pretty fair and square. And as I said before, there is no harm in trying for extra money any way. It doesnt change the fact that he would not accept Chelsea's contract if they offered it right now.
There have been many players who have said they would 'never go there' and ended up there weeks later when the offer comes through. Not that there will necessarilly be an offer.

Signing Ronaldhino would be a big mistake for Chelsea IMO, they would have to change their style of play to accommodate him and Duff and Robben are cutting teams apart ATM. And i think Mourinho knows that. He already said that he was happy with his squad and didn't forsee any signings in the xfer window. We shall see.

a) Agreed completely. At the moment they are odds-on for the title, and they have arguably the best manager in the World IMO. And the most honest, and amusing in interviews. :)

b) Hmm, like you say in your first point, plenty have said it before and days later it has happened.

Do you reckon you have a chance of catching them Tom?
Very very very small, and Arsenal's isn't much bigger. I think both us and Arsenal dropping points made the title take a big step towards The Bridge, IMO.

The initial point Marc made was no player could resist Chelsea. Ronaldinho pretty much says he wouldnt sign up for them.
YOU: Rijkaard wont give up Eto as easily.
MARC: When Abramovich comes calling, I don't think anyone can say no.

That is in direct reference to Rijkaard (the manager as representative of the club) being unable to refuse the offer of Abramovich (the chairman as representative of the club). Fact.

Then he already changed his mind is/was considering buying a nothing special type player to cover some of the injuries they have and that Czech player who plays for CSKA Moscow is claiming he is having talks with them. If the offer is right almost any player is up for sale. Liverpool proved that when they accepted Chelsea's bid for Steven Gerrard, only for him to say no (I signed him on CM for a bargin price).

Yes, I looked at your team to find we have about half the same players.

My annoyance today was in picking the wrong keeper (again!)

Robinson left on the bench :(
I wonder if it is only you and me that is still following this competiton?

Having a look at the table I'm now second - thank you Chelsea defence :D

Rcieved an amusing email from a Spurs fan today:

"an FA spokesman after the game absolved the linesman of any responsibility for the apparently mistaken decision not to award a goal to Spurs after a shot from the halfway line crossed the goal line by at least a meter.

"The shot came in from an unusual distance and as such caught the linesman out of position forcing him to race back towards the goal as the play developed", explained the spokesman, "As he ran, the United scarf he was wearing under his shirt came loose and fluttered up into his face obscuring his view and preventing him from making the call. It was just one of those things."

In response to further questions from the Press the spokesman explained "If they don't already have a United tattoo most officials on game day try to wear a scarf or a replica shirt under their regulation kit to show their support for the worlds greatest club. The linesman in this case had chosen to wear a United scarf, a common choice that is in keeping with FA guidelines. The root cause of the problem lies not with the linesman but with the players and management of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club who broke one the most important unwritten rules of the English FA: They placed a shot on target at Old Trafford. Martin Jol is new to this country and perhaps he is not yet familiar with some of our finer traditions. Fortunately if he doesn't yet understand that for the greater good of the game visiting teams, by tradition, are not expected to try to score at Old Trafford then our officials are in a position to help Mr Jol make that cultural adjustment."

Chuckling to himself the FA spokesman added "The goal had to be disallowed to avoid us descending down a slippery slope that would be bad for the
national game. It's a fine line the officials have to walk. If they award a goal this week, next week someone might expect a penalty or ask that Van Nistleroy be booked for diving. Can you imagine? That would just never do.
No no no. Shocking, just the thought of it."

Eyes not spreadsheets
And Peter Reid has gone.

Apparently he'd taken us as far as he could (which is a lie, as the way he was taking us, we'd have been in League One next season)

So who is the likely replacement then? I suppose Gary Megson, or Micky Adams migh be good choices.

Dude read again! When Marc said 'any one' ow he only means Rijkaard and not Eto or any other player, only you must decipher.

Manager, not player. The manager wants the money, so he's likely to give up his players to Abramovich (who's paying way over market price anyway...)
