By bringing up Chelsea, he's been able to get Barcelona worried, so they offer him more wages in order to stay, even though there was little chance of him being bid for.

It's a clever ploy, and one used quite often by players to get themselves more money - mention a richer club and their own club panics!
He has said that he is very much happy in Barcelona and so he isnt making them exactly worried. Just denying romours about moving to Barcelona. There were reports how he had said would like to move to Chelsea but he says he would not like to move there. So he is clearing things up, not making his club worried.

As it is, there is nothing wrong in trying to get more wages. And why do you bring the higher wages point? Your initial point was that no one would refuse Chelsea cos of the money. When I showed the stuff about Ronaldinho, you change the topic cleverly.

So is that a rare away game for you?

For somebody who has never been to cricket or football Old Trafford is that behind a goal or you Exeter supporters been shoved in an obsure corner of the ground?
It's my first away game - hopefully of many. We have the entire upper tier of the behind-the-goal East stand, the lower tier of the south-east corner (making 9,000) - plus those who have bought Man Utd home tickets with Exeter addresses have been put into the North stand third tier - binoculars required. All in all, I expect around 11,000 Grecians.

The initial point was that no club could turn down a transfer offer.

No, there was no bid, so he is making it up.

The only reason he is making it up is to get a bigger contract.

ManUtd.com currently on a banning spree of Grecians fans from the message boards.

I had my account suspended on that message board. There were some united fans having a right go for us being fans of a smaller club. all i was saying was that we're more loyal than they'll ever be and that upsets them. I also said we were a football team where as they were just a big company. Aparrently calling them a big company was threatening.

This is what they said
YELLOW CARD: Invading fan of other club

It''s slightly sad of you to sign on to the message board of our ''big company'' to abuse us isn''t it? Account suspended.

Do not discusss any warnings on the board. Any dispute, please take it up with chatsupport@londonweb.net
I particularly like the londonweb.net bit... here's the ExeWeb thread if you're interested.

Wow. Impressed there's a Grecian from Washington D.C. on there!

Washington Tyne & Wear would be impressive enough for a non-league team!

Fantastic. Giggs injured.
Oooh. I'm sure the evil Spurs player did it all to hurt Man U. I mean, that could mean Arsenal or Chelsea won the league. They'd surely want that more, right...

Well, to quote a commentator whose name I forget, can Manchester United score? They always score...

A goals gotta come soon, they've hit their own post, done the rounds. Arsenal - Man City is 1-1, I'd settle for that if it stays that way.

Well with Arsenal one down AT HOME to friggin' City & Man U being held by the other north London team whose name we don't mention if the fat lady isn't singing she's certainly started her vocal warm-ups. :(

EDIT: I see we've now equalised. Still not good result tho.

Arsenal are drawing. United are all over Spurs by all accounts (not watching it) but you get the feeling it isn't our day. Chelsea are 2 up, and the other 2 are drawing, to summise.

Good day of sports for you, then?

One of the very best! & If you factor in Cambridge United (my local & second "little club, pat-on-the-head" team) being rock-bottom of entire football league as well.... :-O

Well, apparently Carroll has just dropped it 4 foot over the line and it was disallowed. Sounds a bit dodgy to me, but I won't complain.

Anyway, the gap between Arsenal and Chelsea has widened.
