Carragher is not involved much because he's a right back, Gerrard basically just seems to defend all game and occasionally passes the ball sideways - he's not really influencing the game particularly like Terry, Lampard or Cole do.

The FA have decided that they won't back Liverpool ahead of Everton,but they will back Liverpool to get an extra spot just because they are the champions.

They've pointed out the farce that is if England only had 3 sides in, then they'd now be in, but because we have 4 it's not apparently going to happen.

Relative to Lampard, which was the context used all along, he's not been as influential and that's even in a team that's not as good as Chelsea. You've completely missed the context that was used.

Surely Steven Gerrard should be Captain of England..he seems to be able to influence his players far more than Beckham does.

I can see Liverpool building up a decent side next season. They'll have Morientes available for Champions league (if they're allowed in) and they probably want to find another good central defender. They've definately got some class players in Gerrard, Xabi Alonso & Carragher though.

Gerrard defiantely is a inspirational leader, possibly more than Beckham will ever be but i dont think big sven even harbours the idea of replacing Beckham has Englands captain.

Once liverpool maintain good form in the premiership next season, we could be in for a real battle for the championship with the likes of Chelsea, my boys Man U & Arsenal
