I can see Liverpool building up a decent side next season. They'll have Morientes available for Champions league (if they're allowed in) and they probably want to find another good central defender. They've definately got some class players in Gerrard, Xabi Alonso & Carragher though.

Apparantly Dudek is likely to be going even though he was the hero in the shoot out and Villarreal's keeper Reina is almost certain to be at Anfield next year.

They better start singing 'You will never walk alone' in Spanish at the rate they are going at (mind you it would be pretty funny hearing the kop singing in Spanish).

Well Latics have had a fairly busy day, after already signing Paul Warne, Robert Scott and Gareth Owen, today we've signed Terrell Forbes and Paul Edwards, aswell as getting Scott Vernon, Mark Tierney and Mark Hughes on new contracts.

Just learnt this. Roy Carroll's been given a free transfer. Ricardo's been given the boot as well along with 6 youngsters.

Looks like Howard's going to be given his shot. Good debut season followed by a disappointing year. Hope he can regain his 2003/2004 form. Kieran Richardson too might be given a shot.

utd release at least that amount of young players each year, the decision to boot out carrol and ricardo rather than offer them new deals is one of the smartest moves they have made in a very long time.

They release so many as further proof that the so-called fabled youth development programme they have isn't actually any good at all.
