This week's "stupid news" award... the Scottish FA

Play-off final time set to move

The 2005 Conference play-off final is set to be moved to a Saturday evening.

The Scottish FA objected to the original time of the game which was to be shown on national television on either a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Uefa rules insist that a match can only be televised at that time of day if all football governing bodies agree.

A source close to the Conference told BBC Southern Counties Radio the game is likely to be at 1930 BST on Saturday, 14 May at Stoke's Britannia Stadium.

Always funny when that sort of thing happens!

Sell Van Nistelrooy and get a midfielder in the Lampard mould, also start looking for a replacement for Giggs (someone who can play one of the wide roles in a 4-3-3)

I thought van Nistelrooy showed signs of getting back to his previous self. I feel the problem lies with the manager, who isn't getting any younger.

Na its not that, Nistelrooy has jus been out of football for too long, cant expect him to walk back into fine form. it will come

The real area of intrest now is who will be promoted and relegated aswell as the cups.
I still predict southampton will just survive with all 3 promoted teams from last year going down which is not good news.
as far as promotion from the championship goes Sunderland despite losing yesterday and id tip Ipswich to take 2nd. Play offs i would tip Preston as they are in great form at the moment but obviously if you reach the play offs you have a chance.

Champions league- id favour Milan just
UEFA cup - Newcastle
F.A cup- Newcastle although my head says Arsenal

The fact he's not suited to playing this formation?
alright, away from the injury whos fault is that. its wrong to change or furthermore base your team on one player

The injury is irrelevant, in fact I have been saying they should sell him for a fair while now.

of course its relative. If your out for the most of the season how can you expect or be expected to walk back in and instantly pick up from where you left off.
and for that matter nistlerooy is probally one of, or the best box strikers around. If he does get sold i dont care

methinks they cant afford to until they have a replacement lined up, selling nistelrooy would put waaay to much pressure on rooney, and why on earth would they want to sell him ?

TBF to Van Nosedive I'd have to blame Ferguson for the Norwich defeat. Rooney, Ronaldo & Ruud himself on the bench smacks of complacency that the current Moan U can ill afford.

I think the purple-faced one's position is looking as tenuous as it has for sometime. He's gambled this year's transfer kitty on a certain tubby little pikey who, as good a player as he is, isn't yet the totem a team can hang their season on.

I don't think they'll get rid of Ferguson or van Nistelrooy. Ruud's just come back into the team. if he was out for say two weeks and gone this long without a goal then i'd say something was up, but in this case where's he's out for more than two months then you know it's going to take a while to get form so you don't cuss him out at least not yet. Fergie's still got some good seasons left in him. He's just come up the last two seasons against teams which were/are phenomenally good.

No, it is irrelevant, because even before it he wasn't working in that system.
