The club should have given him a one match suspension. With the amount of money players are getting paid, a small fine is nothing to them. It just isn't getting through the players' heads that their every move is closely monitored, its not fair, but it is the way it is. I'm sure Trent Barrett would have felt it more if he was left out of the club's most important game of the season, but as if the Dragons would suspend him.
He didn't do anything !!! He did push-ups in his underwear at a pub. A fine is reasonable for such a minor infringement. Dropping him would be ridiculous

Stripping down to your underwear would get you arrested in most clubs, at least thrown out, add to that it was on the bar. These players act like little children. They should learn that one day its going to get out of hand, and its going to be impossible for the NRL or some other outside body to clear it up. Coffs Harbour anyone...?

What does what he did have to do with the Dragons or the NRL? Quite frankly, we should stick our noses out players' private lives a bit. It obviously wasn't bad enough to be arrested. If you did that at a pub would your employer fine you? Of course not. I know it is a little different, but a little bit of sanity and level-headedness please

Having said that, I do not condone his actions at all

Like it or not, these players are celebrities, especially ones as high profile as Trent Barrett. Whether they like it or not when they sign their contracts and play games and collect their millions each seasons they have an obligation to be role models. They need to forget that they are not rock stars where it is considered 'acceptable' to do these druken things. Just think of the mother of a young player who idolises Trent Barrett, the mother then hears what he has done, it is not sending out a good message. Trent Barrett is in the middle of a season and is therefore technically employed and therefore can be sacked for what he does.

I laughed too Sean when I first heard. Fine sufficient IMO, but we can agree to disagree Skipper.

Well, I can't see St George putting 100+ on The Knights, so it looks like the minor premiership to The Eels! Bet not too many predicted that....

Broncs have been v unlucky with injuries at the end of the regular season, but it's really been a big jib from them. Lost last 5 (? IIRC) on the bounce.

Hopefully the Dragons can win or the Tigers lose (or both) so that the Dragons can be assured of not being knocked out in the first week by coming 2nd and also get the week off should they win

Well im hoping Joey destroys the Dragons, Tigers win and then not only will we finish 2nd but we'll finish ahead of BRISBANE... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

we played well last night, when Barnes got injured Seymour was running a one man show without the ball, but we showed enough last night to suggest we can still win the comp. With Lockyer and Hodges in particular coming back im very confident we will still go all the way...

they will crumble under the pressure, and even if they do win tomorrow they will go out in straight sets in the finals...

Lol at Broncoman. Clinging on to hope for the Broncos. They won't win the premiership if Scott Minto has to take the field again this season. 5 in a row for the Broncs now isn't it?

IMO they will lose next week no matter who they play. (assuming it's either the Sotrm or Cowboys)

As for the Tigers they could very well not win another game this year but I doubt it. I think they will be too good for Penrith and if they are then they will be full of confidence and should win in the first round of finals no matter who they play out of the bottom four of the 8.

IMO there isn't usually that much pressure in the first week of the playoffs and the games aren't too intense. How do you know how the Tigers players will react to finals footy anyway? Just because they are young and haven't been there before doesn't mean they are suddenly going to get stage fright. Look at the Cowboys last year.

If we dont get anymore injuries Minto wont have to play again this season
2 Tate
3 Hodges
4 Berrigan
5 Bott

everyone is back from injury so i think we will be right, we played well last night we were blown away in the last 15 but we were stuffed from defending. Parra deserved to win but Brisbane got a lot of confidence out of that match...
i dont see either the storm or cowboys beating us week 1..

Have to agree with Simon here. I didn't get to see much of the game because I had a gig last night, but from what I've heard we played very well, with a depleted team against the minor premiers, once we get a fully fit team on the paddock and our combinations back we will be very hard to beat, especially with a rested Lockyer and Hodges. I'm very confident of our chances.

Haha. Tigers all the way IMO. I hope so anyway. As soon as the warriors were out I have been behind the tigers. They are awesome to watch and even support. Benji Marshall.. what a player.

Raiders have been pretty disappointing. I thought they might get up against Manly. Looks like it's season over for Roosters & Panthers.
