He3 should be there for the birth of his child. At the end, like lee said ; family is more important! He might be fine with it now...but he will regret it later; for example he will never be avble to tell others how he felt when his child was born...because he wasn't there! He may watch movies or read abt moments when a child is born and the father is happy about it..u know wat i mean. He'll regret it then and perhaps may feel guilty!

I dont know...its just my opinion! I dont know how it feels for a father when his child is born. I'm just trying to put myself in Lee's shoes.

My husband regrets it a little, but you have to take all these things into consideration before you make such a decision.
I'm sure Lee thought about all of that.
Hopefully the baby is born a few days earlier or later.

I wonder if he would regret not being a member of a test side when he reads about how an experienced pace bowler might have been the key difference in the first test.

Telecast the birth on the big screen, Bing can have a look while he's fielding at fine leg.

I don't see why Lee is being less of a family man by missing out on his childs birth.. Fact is, he's bringing home the bacon by playing international cricket as well let us not forget..

OH MY GOD!
What is it that you really mean by this statement?

Man, would anybody think less of a man who chose to be with his wife on such a day? Um, I don't think so!

Sure, there's nothing bigger in life than having kids, but, no offence mate, I don't think that Flintoff or Lee would care about what anyone else thinks of their decision as it really is nobody else's business.
Uh, my point is that for anyone to say Lee should be playing in the cricket match rather than watching his wife give birth is plain wrong

Sure, if wife is happy for him to not be there, fair play. But to see that regardless of what she thinks, Ashes comes first, that's a joke, as is the statement that all she is doing is popping out a litter, and that five days won't make much difference. Prmph.

Well, it's already been decided, so you're kinda flogging a dead horse here....

Ahem.....how do you know this? Were you a part of their conversations? Did you even read any of the articles on the matter?
If you did, you would know that Lee indicated that his wife is letting him play and also said that he hoped the child would be born early so that he can be present in the delivery room.

It seems that you are making the assumption or ****-umption rather, that Lee's wife had no say in the matter! C'mon, man! You don't know the couple!
Lee hardly seems to be the patriarchal type.

Ah no, you've misunderstood me. I meant mainly in reference to SS's comments. I don't really know what's happened with Lee and it's up to them. My point was that for anyone to say that Ashes>childbirth is just stooooopid.

No one said that except for SS.

But you could've fooled everyone here with that ridiculous "regardless of what she thinks, Ashes comes first" comment. Thought you were involved with them for a second.....

No, no. What I meant is that SS seemed to think that the woman's opinion was irrelevant, any cricketer in that situation should choose the Ashes every time.

I didn't say the womans opinion was irrelevent, I just said that whoever says they should miss an Ashes test just so they can see a childbirth is just stupid, and their opinion irrelevent. DOesn't matter if its Lee or Lee's wife that thinks this way.

Well that's just a stupid opinion you have right there SS. I hope you never have kids. :p
