Controversial Pakistan paceman Mohammad Amir cleared to enter New Zealand | Stuff.co.nz
Assault is found to be a slightly more "severe" crime than spot-fixing.From an immigration perspective (which I...know some things about) I find that pretty interesting. Chris Brown for example never did any time for his crimes yet was having a hard time getting entry before he gave up.
To have been recently (last 5 years) locked up and be allowed entry is somewhat surprising. On top of that, likelihood of offending in NZ is a factor and he is coming here to do the exact same thing he was doing when he offended, which is also pretty unusual.
I'm not taking any position on that, just noting that Amir received a more severe sentence.Assault is found to be a slightly more "severe" crime than spot-fixing.
Don't confuse immigration departments with cricket boards. Cricket boards don't issue visas.I don't think the BIG 3 would have ever granted him visa. They probably never will.
