Edwards was picked after 1 FC game and he took 1 for 40odd I believe! Lara asked for him in the team because he was impressed with him in the nets. If that's not lucky...Craig said:Picking Taylor and Lawson after a few games is what I would call lucky. And how is Dwayne Smith and Edwards lucky per se?
Thankyou!!Ronnie Irani fully fit and in his prime was a very useful player IMO.
He has a hell of alot of potential, I'll have you know. But certain people (person) think(s) the world of him regardless.
Yes, I agree, his FC stats most certainly are. I would have hope him to express it too by now.Mr Mxyzptlk said:But after 42 FC matches and 88 OD matches, you'd have liked him to express that potential as results by now. His stats are laughable for one rated so highly.
He impressed me a lot when I saw him play for Lancs a while before his test debut.... I didnt think it was too "out of the blue"PY said:What about James Anderson getting called up?
Then check how many games he's played and how many of those are ODIs. You'll deduce that he made 92*, 1 and 0 before being called up to the senior side. Not very impressive. Besides, his avge is only 28.87.Tom Halsey said:Yes, I agree, his FC stats most certainly are. I would have hope him to express it too by now.
His OD stats are, however, very good. Check them out.
He had only played three OD games for Lancs when he was called up to play Australia.Langeveldt said:He impressed me a lot when I saw him play for Lancs a while before his test debut.... I didnt think it was too "out of the blue"
Alright, maybe I got a bit carried away, but there's no need for that.Mr Mxyzptlk said:You really haven't seen much cricket, have you?
17, wasn't it?I:Indian said:Parthiv Patel...This kid got in at the age of 18...:O
Very much so. 3 OD games, with not-outstanding results, and suddenly he's playing ODIs.PY said:What about James Anderson getting called up?
'Big-time'?Richard said:Very much so. 3 OD games, with not-outstanding results, and suddenly he's playing ODIs.
Then selecting him for Tests backfired big-time.
now ive heard it allRichard said:Bowling average irrelevant. It's one-day cricket. OK, his economy-rate isn't great either, just pointing-out that there's no meaning in average.
Nope, but the fact that someone who, had he been picked in maybe 2005, would quite possibly have gone in and averaged 25-6 from the start is big-time.Tom Halsey said:'Big-time'?
Averaging only just over 30 is not big time.
