Ahhhh confidence, now I understand. It's all confidence! here I was mistaking it for unashamed arrogance, how wrong I was.
Please forgive me.

Sounds like good advice. I mean, why bother considering others? They're just inconsequential wasters who aren't you at the end of the day.

Your attitude towards others seems to mirror your attitude towards grammar and spelling.

Point admirably demonstrated.

If I hadn't been told, I could easily have mistaken "Take your bitching elsewhere. I'm not interested." for arrogance or, as Dasa intimated, 'not being gracious'.

But no, it's really just confidence.
See! This is what I was talking about when I was saying that I was surprised that more Australians hadn't spoken out against Zimbabwe. They should be more Australian (which is a good adjective for any "confident" person, in my opinion).

"You're a bloody ******."
"Thanks, that's very Australian of you."

I love being a New Zealander. :D

Wow, this thread really ran off the rails.

Personally, I don't really care how good Ponting's selection policy or game tactics are - I think he's a fair to very good captain, a great batsman, and I think that Lara's a poor leader and lousy tactician (and the sooner he gets replaced, the sooner West Indian cricket will resuscitate). The issue is surely whether or not Ponting is a loud, moronic prat. And my Magic 8 Ball says yes - he is.

And I'm a proud Aussie supporter, thanks very much.

Furthermore if you do go on statistics alone Ponting is the greatest captain to ever Lead a nation in One Day Cricket. ( qualification 25 games )
Or, more to the point, this Australian side is the most dominant ever in One Day Cricket.

Hope that's sarcastic... :p

There's absolutely no evidence to say he is.

I would imagine the Kiwi's for one would disagree strongly, seeing as they actually possess an awesome captain.

You may just be cleverer than I thought you were.

We've had many a chat about the ego of Aussies. It seems to me that you have the right to brag about your side because they are the best, but some elements enjoy ramming it down people's throats which is the arrogant part. Also as this thread is showing, some people can't seem to be able to take criticism or anything but outright praise for their compatriots.

However, I'm English so I'm just a whinger. :D

Though I can't see why the Staff may have got it in the neck?

I doubt it.

Scallywag's having a hard day today. His manacles are chafing.

This is what I was asked to prove Ponting was a good captain by N Pickup:

Can anybody provide examples of some real on-field, crunch situation leadership by the Kiwi captain or is it only the Australian captain that has to prove he a good leader.I think Ponting is the better captain but I am open to sound reasons why I might be wrong.
