Yeah KP had similar issues but there was always the thought from the beginning that he was unprofessional in his approach.
But Kohlis main thing was mental focus and ambition. He had a lot of pride. He buckled down after failing in England in 2014 to deliver the goods with real precision in 2018.
He had a slump but it looked like he broke the spell last year. But he hasn't upped his game. He is better than this mediocrity.
I don't think as hominem attacks are necessary - the guy has achieved a lot for India over a long period but for whatever reason has just declined dramatically in test cricket. I doubt this is work disrespect to the game or his team. Maybe he'll hang up the gloves after this tour, especially if India are ruled out of the WTC final. However, I wonder if there are commercial reasons to keep him in the test side to maintain its profile.Really pissed as Kohli. What a waste of elite abilities to end up in the 40s. I thought this guy had more pride to push his record forward. Feel completely let down by his approach.
Saying all that, mediocrity might be too positive a description of his recent form - he's scored single figures or worse in 9 of his last 16 innings.
