I will say this if Bumrah can reach 275 wickets at current ratio at less then 21 he is a top 10 fast bowler, anything over 300 he is up there with 7/8 fast bowlers
If he takes 300+ test wickets at an average of 20-21, he is Top 5. If he can do that and have an ATG series in NZ and Eng, arguably the best ever.

I have always maintained that there has never been a better bowler. Including Barnes, Marshall, Hadlee etc. When I say that I actually mean that even without any bias towards him.
Who?

I think Bumrah is currently behind 9 ATGs-

1. Marshall
2. McGrath
3. Hadlee
4. Steyn
5. Imran
6. Ambrose
7. Wasim
8. Lillee
9. Donald
10. Bumrah
Would add Garner definitely for now. Maybe Cummins for overall career too though bumrah has been levels above him the last few years.

is Bumrah faster than Ambrose?
Yes

I always felt Curtly Ambrose was the most difficult bowler for a batsman to score runs against but having second thoughts in recent times after seeing Bumrah bowl. Don’t know whether the batsmen nowadays are not good enough or he is just that damn good.

You are missing the fact that Bumrah's release point is 34cm ahead of his front foot. That'd mean batter's reaction time is way less than regular bowlers.
(For reference, Siraj's release point is only 7cm ahead of his front foot landing, Waqar's was likely similar to Siraj)

And Waqar never bowled above 153 kmph.
Speed guns were very far from the norm when Waqar was bowling fast, so nobody knows how fast exactly he topped out at.

I think I saw him clocked at either 154 or 155 in an ODI. Not confident though. If your 153 figure is coming from some online list, they do tend to be inaccurate. I've watched a number of bowlers (whose speeds I clearly remembered) clocked faster than online lists say.

Yeah. I am just extrapolating a little based on quality we have seen which has allowed him to take 62 test wickets this year alone.

Obviously if Bumrah retires today on 194 wickets, he will be like top 20, rather than top 10.

I have him around 10th amongst the pacers. Probably needs some more longevity to be a certain top 10.

With decent longevity, 70+ tests and 300+ wickets, he should finish top 5 IMO.
add in Garner and Trueman, Beats Holding though

Might be true. Not important for my point.

You are the one who is the joker in the room. Check the votes. The Majority disagrees with your pakpassion views.
You are actually the one who is stupid for calling out someone mentioning Waqar was quicker than Bumrah. Bumrah isn’t as fast as Waqar. Just let anyone outside Pak or Ind answer this question and you would be fool for calling someone out when mentioning Waqar was quicker than Bumrah.

Not sure about Fred Trueman

Great record in England(Avg of 20) and NZ(Avg of 14)

Mediocre record in Australia(Avg of 27) and WI(Avg of 32)
