PlayerComparisons

International Vice-Captain
Number of years is more important than number of wickets I think. Garner and Holding would probably have a lot more wickets playing today.

300 should be enough for Bumrah to be an ATG though,

29 fast bowlers have taken 300+ wickets

Those who have done it at an average of <25

iirc that’s most of the bowlers who are in contention for a top 10 spot for most people. Others have played in an earlier time with fewer tests, and then theres the other two West Indians who one might put in contention for a top 10 spot.

Lindwall is also in contention for me.

My bowlers are less set in stone but for me I’d say (excluding Barnes), Lindwall, Davidson and Garner (for his batting) are currently fighting it out for those last two spots.
I probably rate those guys similarly to you (maybe Davo slightly higher) but they end up higher because I don't rate Lillee, Donald or Trueman as high as most people.

1. McGrath
2. Marshall
3. Hadlee
4. Ambrose
5. Imran
6. Steyn
7. Davidson
8. Wasim
9. Garner
10. Close between a bunch - Waqar, Lindwall, Pollock, Donald, maybe Cowie depending on how I feel about that kind of thing on a given day.

Cummins is probably already in that top ten for me but I'll think about that properly when he retires. I thought about including Jimmy but even though I do rate him near this league I'd just be trolling to say he's actually better than any of the ones above.
