ING Cup

Clarke looks a shoe in for man of the match. Terrific performance, I'm sure David Hookes would agree
2 wickets, a run out, and he's keeping Victoria at bay with some splendid batting. Clarke and Bevan may yet make one of the better partnerships in world limited overs cricket. :D

:!( :!( :( :(

I was there. How could we let them draw!?! We had the match in the bag with 1 to come, but NOOOO, Inness had to put it in all the wrong places.:(

How did you like Clarke's allround performance Mr Ponting? Can we get praise from another Victorian?
Inness bowled that last over very, very well I thought. At least he didn't give it to NSW, right?

That was amazing!! :O

A run out on the last ball of the match!! What the h*ll were the batsmen thinking going for two though?

Surely it was worth going for the second trying to win it?

Never know, the keeper could have fumbled it.

It was their batsmen that didn't put up a big enough total. 20-30 runs more might have done it.
Hang on, back up a bit. Ged, 20-30 runs would not have done it. WA got to the total in 36.2 overs for crying out loud.
As for the bowlers, conceding a run rate of 5.4 with a low total is not 'good enough'.

But back to the Vics v NSW game, when you say why did they go for the second run... do you realise it was the last ball of the match?

I was there and the vic bowlers were pretty good apart from White and Inness, who everyone is saying was brilliant. Apart from the last over of the game he was pretty damn expensive and crap

I'm sure you'll all agree with me on this one, they went for the second run for one reason: Nothing to lose and all to gain.

...But they were 7 wickets down. It doesn't take long to clean up a tail :). Remember I said 'might have done it'. As in, it could have been enough because the tail was exposed for WA.

Exactly. I don't know why there is so much conjecture surrounding it.

Damn right. Inness was absolutely crap. However, in that last over he did very well. At least he didn't give it away, when I think NSW could have made the 8 runs easily.

Peter Roach took a HUGE risk keeping up to the loose cannon Inness in that last over, just think if one ball got past.....

Top keeping my book. Keeps the batsmen in their crease and stops them advancing and driving.
