And we are in the finals....yoo hoo !!
Well the fav's gottabe the England's first choice 11 that the English fans have been talking about!Originally posted by warrioryohannan
So are the Indian team's critics ready to accept India as one of the Next WC's Favourites??
I wouldn't be so sure, Australia would be favourites going into the final because of their form (unless they have to rely on Jayasuriya retiring hurt to win the semi that is) and also their record in the real pressure games (1 win in 10 finals for India isn't it)If Aus fails top make it to the final then India have a greater chance of winning the cup.If India face Aus, then the chances are even!
For crying out loud, where has any English supporter declared their side the best in the world? We haven't, only pointed out that we are having a very bad run of injuries at the moment.Well the fav's gottabe the England's first choice 11 that the English fans have been talking about!
Nothing like going over the top is there?Originally posted by TendulkarMark2
HATS OFF TO TENDULKARMARK2!!
yeah guys, he has done it again, this time not only with the bat but also with the ball.India are in the final, Sehwag is now the most feared player in the world, an absolute master blaster.
India are now right at the top, go India go, let TM2 guide u to CT victory

Sounds about a fair assessment to me, although as I've said before, the schedule favours India slightly, especially if the conditions are that bad that someone has to retire because they can't take it any more.
So now SA is a one man team. When Gibbs retired, they had 8 wickets in hand. They were pretty much on track. Now rewind and revisit SA's WC matches against Aus. In one match Mark Waugh got away with murder (of the art of offspin that is) as they let him complete 6 easy overs. It looks like they now panicked against Sehwag and Harbhajan.(unless they have to rely on Jayasuriya retiring hurt to win the semi that is)
I have come to associate these qualities and a few others like teamwork, and an intense desire to win, with this team. The way they fought back and restricted them in the final overs was highly impressive and representative of a kind of grit which we don't normally associate with the Indians
I think the correct statement is "If Gibbs had remained fit and stayed..." then SA might have won, but with Gibbs getting drained out like he was, I think if he had stayed by mustering the last bits of his energy also he wouldn't have made a difference and would have been out pretty soon. He just didn't have it in him towards the end when he went off the field.Originally posted by anilramavarma
If Gibbs had stayed, SA might have won comfortably.
That's what I did mean. Sorry if I wasn't clearer earlier. If Gibbs had remained fit and stayed...
