I understand that, and I actually think it's a good idea, but sometimes you hope good things don't happenMr Mxyzptlk said:You've got lots of time left yet. I think people are understimating how long it takes to age. There are only about 3 Dev League seasons per year.
Especially seeing as a season in the early days wasn't that many games at all.Neil Pickup said:I don't agree with that at all - don't want to see the old guard cast onto the bonfire with crap stats. The current experience system is fine stats wise as it stands. I wouldn't ever want people losing stats because they've played for a long time.
Dauth is speaking sense. Whilst an "U19" setup is a nice touch for the younger players... I don't see any point of effectively killing off those of us who have worked so bloody hard and put in so bloody much to get the CWXI where it is.Robertinho said:The whole system works well enough as it is - why fix something that isn't broken? After all, this is meant to give enjoyment to the masses, why should older players have to face retirement?
I disagree with the whole speed - mentality + curve aswell, is it really necessary? Making things too complicated - not going to enhance the experience much (if at all) either.
It's not killing off - merely degenerating or restarting. I can't see how that would put you in any worse a position than any other player who was here for a long time and isn't in a great position at the moment (eg, Gooljar, Langley). If they and others can stick around for a long time without being one of the greatest players in the game, why can't the others who have stuck around for a long time and have been in the spotlight from alpha 'til omega?Neil Pickup said:Dauth is speaking sense. Daniel has a point here.Loony BoB said:It's not killing off - merely degenerating or restarting. It would be nice to see a gradual change of the guard in the CWXI. At the moment it's there, but I get the feeling that half the squad will still be there in 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 seasons from now, possibly more. Surely there must be a limit on such things if we are to encourage players to stick around and for new players to join.
That's a good suggestion. An alternative, perhaps.Blaze said:If the old guard are adamant about staying in the Cricket Web XI for their entire stay on Cricket Web then maybe if plenty of people continue to sign up we could see 2 teams from Cricket Web competing in the international arena as two diferent countries.
Obviously that would be an unlikely scenario any time soon but down the track if there are enough player numbers we could have 2 seperate domestic competitions leading on to two seperate countries so that more people get the chance to play international cricket.
The player pool would have to increase better than 5fold before that happened though, because it would make more sense to expand the number of teams in domestic cricket before we consider dividing into countries.Blaze said:If the old guard are adamant about staying in the Cricket Web XI for their entire stay on Cricket Web then maybe if plenty of people continue to sign up we could see 2 teams from Cricket Web competing in the international arena as two diferent countries.

Rookie adjustments mean he wouldn't get away with it, but he'd start fresh and therefore have a chance to build a decent career.steds said:If I were in a position like Jamee, though. Never getting a game and that. I'd definitely reincarnate myself...with super rookie power. If they could all get away with it while Gray rotted at Greens, I'd have no problem with Gray re-signing up as Sobers.
