GB - an important question.

Blewy

If somebody trades away a draft pick for a player, are they obliged to name this player as one of the 11 retained?
For this season, NO, i will allow it for this season only.... After the rush period is over and the new season is underway there will be a major conference for everyone to come up with ideas for next seasons draft...

GB - I would like to keep 11 players and drop my 6th draft pick. Do I have your permission?
I will allow it providing someone else isn't interested in trading for it...
:D :D :D

so i think i want to keep 12 to13 players. so i would like to drop 3 draft picks. is this available for myself or not. someone please clarify. i am so confused

Bugssy u would have to trade AT LEAST 2 of your DP's for players...

U can drop those players at the cull but u must only have equivalent to 16 players after the cull, so if u want to keep 12 players then u are only allowed to have 4 DP's...

so say i keep 12 players. i use all of my 6 dp's but the last or 1st 2 will be players that i dont want as i get ride of them anyway. hence i will have 12 + 6 that i draft and out of that will only keep 4 so 18 - 2 is 16. is this correct

U will actually have to relinquish the DP's before the Draft, U cannot keep 12 players and 6 DP's, remember u are only allowed to have 16 players after the cull, so in ur case 12 players and 4 DP's...

What happens is:

At the end of the trading time, a couple of weeks, you count up how many draft picks you have...

Say you have 5 still (traded one).

You then take this number from 16. To get 11, (16 - 5 = 11). You are now only aloud to keep 11 players from all the ones you have still got, (Current squad + New players - Traded players).

Thus you now have 11 players and 5 draft picks for a total of 16.

So, take the number of draft picks you have (x) and take it from 16...

16 - x = the number of players you may keep.

i start to get the hang of it then someone leaves a post then i get confused again

when do i get rid of all my players but the ones i want. before the draft or after

if before i will then have 12 players, i then tell blewy that i only need 4 dp's. is this correct

If people are being allowed to just "drop" a draft pick, I don't think it's fair they can drop their 6th pick, as the players on offer by that time will be utter rubbish.

Fairer to make them lose an earlier (2nd round) pick IMO.

With only 16 players in your squad, who wants 'rubbish' players?
For the integrity of the competition's strength, best to try and maximise the strength of your squad.

I still disagree with dropping picks

Everyone is going to get late picks, and not everything will be rubbish..
but the whole thing is the uncertainty of what you get in the draft.

It disadvantages those teams who don't drop picks, because although the pickers may get better players, they might get a player they didn't need, whereas if you drop a pick you know exactly what you are getting.
which kinda defeats the purpose.. don't you think?

Look guys i know alot of u are dissapointed in the way this has turned out but its the easiest solution we can come up with on short notice, like i said we can change this for next season...
As for ur question of trading accquired players Graham that is allowed.....
:D :D :D

The biggest problem here is that Draft picks should never have been allowed in this transfer period... It would have stayed so much clearer for everyone is only players for players trades were allowed.

Well i had a think about it and i may have a solution for next year, tell me what u think.
Basically we should have 2 trading periods one before the end of the season and one just after. For the first trading period you can trade any players u want but NOT draft picks. So at the end of the season all teams will have to cut down to 10 players and all teams will have their 6 drafts. Ok for the second trading period you can trade your draft picks, but only if the trade involves equal numbers eg 1 for 1, 2 for 2 etc. This 2nd period could go for like 1 week or something.

We must have had the same idea at the same time :D
