I disagree totally with just being able to relinquish draft picks, and if you do, I think it should be your first, then second, then third, etc etc etc.
It just defeats the whole purpose of the draft

I mean, they are getting a good player that they obviously want, for a lousy 6th draft pick!! Honestly, I think that is plain stupid.

That is bullshit...

If you don't have the skills to get rid of your draft picks, then you don't deserve to keep your best team!

YOU MUST NOT BE ABLE TO DROP DRAFT PICKS!!!!!!!!

What are you guys thinking :I

Maybe GB you should canvas opinion real quick on this one as I'm pretty sure that most people understood it as I originally did - you could NOT forfeit draft picks. You could only trade them.

OK, im gonna have to go with the crowd on this, i was prepared to let people release there DP's but if its gonna cause to much fuss, then i think we'll have to go to the original plan and only allow trading of picks....

so what does that mean.

i am sorry but obviosuly not everyone is going to be happy but why should i suffer because i have a good side apposed to managers that dont. i have traded smartly over the last few weeks but i still need to drop a heap of players. i had a squad of 25 at the start of the season.

if i was running last sure i would drop the worst and have 10 players and pick my 6 drafts players but how on earth do u do it when u have 15 or 16 quality players even after u have culled half your side. if u have a look at the players i let go, some of them are in my 1st eleven that i am still playing with.

look at the end of the day if i keep 12 players and only take 4 draft picks give me the last 4 players available i couldnt care less,

maybe its all just too hard and ill retire nsw from the comp! :(!

Look guys i don't want to start a war, and maybe i did by changing the system a bit....

Bugs i know where u are coming from but the reason we agreed to the 10 rule was to spread the talent over the comp, I have allowed the rules to me moved a tad by allowing teams to carry more players through the cull providing they get rid of DP's, and i am looking for the best possible way to keep everyone happy...
The draft system is a big step and i myself am new to this system, I need people to work with me and not get agro, or abusive, The lower teams must realise they have the top DP's and with a bit of good trading they can build on them...

I am going to stick with the original plan of having a MAX of 16 with NO releasing of DP's, u must either trade them or release players to keep them...

If anyone has any complaints please direct them to me and not at other members i don not want this to get out of hand...

Here is the plan, if you want to get rid of pick... Trade them to a team for a poor player (like Ponting) and then you can drop that player anyway.

All that happens is that you lose your pick and the other team loses their crappy player.

Does that mean if i want to keep one more player i have to get rid of a draft pick by trading it.

Ill trade my last draft pick to anyone for nothing

I think the possible solution would be draft picks should be traded only for draft picks.
That way big teams like Mumbai ;) wouldnt be able to keep all their star players.

By the way Im waiting for the day Im at the bottom of the 3rd div and get to pick the 1st draft pick!! :)

The loophole to allow teams to keep more than 10 players is to swap a draft pick for a crap player and drop the crap player. You then keep one extra good player but lose a draft spot.

Bugsy I've got plenty of crap players to swap for draft picks. ;) ;) ;). All 6 if necessary.

There's no loophole.
The way I think that was intended was for each side to nominate 10 players that they wish to keep before the draft occurs. Your six draft picks might be better positioned than they might otherwise have been if you'd been involved in deals incorporating draft picks.
If you've traded away a draft pick for a player, you must still nominate 10 players and you still have to draft in six players. In this scenario you'll not be left with anyone reasonable to draft in by the time you get your final picks!

so o.k i have a possible 13 players i want to keep. i have to move them down to 10 players and then i get bad draft picks cause of where i finish. so i can not c the harm in the players that i have traded , and i have let alot of good players go in the last few days, so if i only want 3 trade picks then why can that not be.
let me all ask u the following players are whom i have in mt 10. who would u drop and keep
m waugh, m bevan, b haddin, c richards, s lee, a symonds, g mcgrath, s warne, b lee, s macgill, b lara, g stead, m banes.

seriously who am i to drop after trading 5 of my best players who have allready gone.

This is a consequence of all squads not having the same number of players at the start. The problem won't occur again after this season.
I have a similar problem with Lancashire. I'm likely to keep Swann, Lloyd, Mane, Dravid, Modanagopal, Young, Flintoff, Schofield, Maiden and Anderson.
That means I'll not be able to keep T.Roberts(first season batting ave of 45), K.Hogg(one for the future), J.Haynes(wk with averages of 26FC and 27OD), J.Wood or M.Smethurst.
