The SA pitches aren't really spin-favourable - How many World Class spinners have SA produced of late? Boje, Adams.. *coughs*

India are likely to struggle due to their inept bowling line up more than anything else, I am sure that their batting will fire often enough to win games, but too often will the bowlers get carted badly enough to blow them.

..hold on, I don't think the pitches in SA are bouncier than those in Aus or NZ.
OK, I back down from this statement due to the outstanding application shown by the Indian batsmen on their tour of New Zealand.

And I echo these sentiments. I think India will win the WC only if they drop Ganguly and replace him with the most brilliant tactician in world cricket....Agarkar!!!!

I am not saying that India will definitely win the WC but at least don't say that they are not capable of doing so..not with this batting line up.

As I said earlier, the SA pitches are not that bouncier and I'm sure the pitches for WC will be batting friendly to attract maximum viewers. Nobody wants to see a side bowled out for 100 or 150.

Who knows if the Indian bowlers get their act together and come up with fine performances on the given day...

...let's hope for the best.

Never mind the format of the game, don't even take into consideration that there will be different teams for 2 different game.
And for such an analysis, the timing must be perfect, i mean the NZ tour has just finished an d India got blasted in all the onedayers.Perfect sir, your analysis are just perfect!

Well he can't bowl or bat to International standard, so he MUST be able to do something right!

Ganguly has been doing great as a skipper in ODI.If some captain should be axed from a oneday team then it should be the takhla Naseer Hussain.

Ajit does something right with the bat only against one opposition, so he should be restricted to games against them only!

Good point about the pitches.I don't think we will get pitches like the one on which India is playing in NZ these days, otherwise the ondayers in WC might be reduced to 25 overs a side!

On Indian pacers, i think Srinath will be brought back into the team, and Nath along with Khan and Bangar will do a good job.

Yes I see India barely batted for one day in the recent test match (that's both innings combined as well!)

Let me tell you the fact..

The pitch that India dealt with in the first test match was indeed tough to bat on.

At the moment apart from Australia and to some extent South Africa (not sure either), no other side could have batted any better than what India did. Its not something to laugh about.:lol::lol:

Oh, that's easy...just get rid of Bangladesh, Kenya, Canada and Nambia...on 2nd thoughts, don't! I want to see some giant killing even though I won't actually see any of the footage from any of the matches due to not having sky...:(!:(!:(!

Bazar think England would have done wonders on that pitch:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Anyway, he's mixed up between the two formats of the game, next thing he will do is give refrences of India's poor record in HK sixes tour:rolleyes:

Comming back to the original topic, i think the following 4 teams will qualify for the semi finals,

Aus,SA,Eng and NZ.

In keeping with the tradition, a host team and sole fav's will falter somewhere and will lose the race (jinx). So the winner can either be England or New Zealand.
