Final: Australia vs England.

Winner:????
Well since Australia will be without Warne, and now that the English team have found a great cricketer in Batty, chances are that England will give Aussies a hammering in the dream final!

Where have you got this odd idea Batty is even going to the World Cup? Snape should be fit then and he's our 1st choice Offspinning-Allrounder. Anyway on current results it looks like we've discovered a very fine young pacer in Anderson. Harmison could do a good job although he is quite wild sometimes.

Nobody was hailing Batty as great. It's not like he was being compared to Balaji or anything.... (whistles)

Oh dear! Someone predicted that England would outgun teams likes SA,India,NZ and will reach the final to play with Aussies.Knowing all the English players well, i knew none of them would be able to accomplish something that remarkable for England so i just added the name of a new face(said to be highly talented by BBC) in the hope that the guy might come up with a miracle and win a Final birth for the Great English team!

What is this Great English team all about. How many times do we have to say it - No English person has come on here talking up England. The only people who seem to be doing that are the Terrace lot.

Oh, and if you know all the English players, you'd know that Batty is at least 4th in line for a spinners spot in England...

Anyway, he's mixed up between the two formats of the game, next thing he will do is give refrences of India's poor record in HK sixes tour:rolleyes:
Actually I was responding to YOUR comment about pitches in NZ. And I do believe England would have done better on that pitch. Can't be worse than the ones we played on and Hussain got a fantastic ton I seem to recall! :D

The pitch that India dealt with in the first test match was indeed tough to bat on.

At the moment apart from Australia and to some extent South Africa (not sure either), no other side could have batted any better than what India did. Its not something to laugh about.:lol::lol:
What about NZ, who had to bat on the same pitch?

Well Redox and Broncoman seems to think otherwise.

On Batty, it doesn't matter as to which player will be England's first choice spinner, as one will never find a quality spinner in Englsih team!

Its a lot worse. You should have understood from seeing even the Indian Bowlers picking up wickets. It was rising to the head height from a short of a good length ball. Sehwag and Dravid got hit a lot of times.

Not only are the pitches worse than the last time, but also the bowling attack is different.Bond, Tuffy etc weren't playing in the mentioned series!

Excuse for what???? I had predicted before the start of the series that NZ would be favourites, i give credit 2 the NZ team as they were the worthy winners.

The point i made which you were unable to understand was that the team that played with England had a different bowling attack and the pitches back then was DIFFERENT than they were in this series. This is a fact that no one can deny, and hence the comparison between the two series simply cannot be made!!

And the English predicted they'd lose to Australia in this series, but that hasn't stopped the massive over-reaction and condemnation of us!

It doesn't matter if the pitches were different (since it's the same pitch for both sides)

And yes the bowling attacks are different, but so are the 2 sides. No matter what you say, India crumbled in NZ yet last time England played there they fought a good drawn series.

don't worry about comparing the current performances of England & India in their respective tours.......

If memory serves me India, SA, PAK & WI all got smashed off the park by the Aussies the last time any of them toured here - so England are in good company!!!!!!!

A couple of things in England's favour - none of the other teams had as many injuries when they toured, and this current team is a hell of a lot tougher than the sides they faced. You could put any of the above in place of England on this current tour and I'd bet the results would still be the same and Tests would still finish inside the 3 - 4 days!!!!

The big improvement in the current Aussie side is their aggressive batting & quick run rates giving them ample time to really attack with their bowling - I feel they have just about got that formula worked out right. I'd rate this side as mentally tougher & more capable than the side India beat, and should that series be played today & the Indians were in the same good form as they were, this current Aussie team would win that series!!!

I expect this Aussie team to beat their own record for consecutive Test victories & Tests without defeat. At the moment the only thing that can upset them is either massive injuries or the weather!!!!

;)

I objected 2 the word "EXUSE"(not any condemnation) because i wasn't comming up with any excuse for India's defeat.
As for overreaction for England's defeat, i believe it was a normal reaction 2 pathetic performance. I have seen some people(particularly Englishmen) condemn Indian bowlers all the time, so you should stop blaming others and better have a look at urself!
