So the money we have to allocate for the physio & youth development guys are just for this season? We will then have full running costs for the trading period and the left over we can use for physio & youth development next season. Am I correct in assuming this?
The money for running costs covers this season's physio and youth development. The remainder is this seasons signing-on fees (during trading)

Once all squads are finalised any residual money is gone and you will be given a new budget for Season 7. That budget will cover physio and youth development for Season 7 and the remainder will be your signing-on fees for season 7-season 8 trading.

im a little confused too. Running costs + Wages = total Costs (therefore subtracting that from the total budget would give you your amound free)? i assume?
The 2 costs are separate - say I said to you you had $6,500,000 wages and $2,000,000 running costs, it means you have in total $8,500,000, but they are split $6.5 to $2 and that can't be changed.

Given the quality of my 4d side, particularly the bowling attack im wondering how some of these values are so high for their wages, i mean T Darden is clearly one of the top couple of batsmen in WCC yet i have 6 players whom i am paying more than him, some of whom are no good at 4d bowling at all...
With the example above there are a couple of factors that help deflate his value - relative inexperience and also since he doesn't bowl at all, there's no bowling factor at all.

My knowledge (or lack of it) for names in the system meant I wouldn't have picked up this sort of thing, so the only thing I can say is you got lucky that I didn't make the model more complex in terms of valuing those that don't bowl at all more highly.

That's not of course to say that the model is set in stone, so maybe next year with experience, there maybe the odd tweak to the system - it's a constantly evolving model!

still blewy. i've spent 2 and a half years building up my side from easy beats to what they are now. should i be penalised for being a big club?
Nobody is being penalised at all though. There's other clubs in such a worse position than you, and they're not whinging.

To all you who moan, I will again point out the case of Guyana.

Kyle's current squad is $502,000 over his budget for next year (which in one way suggests he should be looking at promotions which will in turn increase his budget a bit)

He has made no negative posts at all about it - just accepted the issue and is working out how to overcome it.

Thanks. That clears it up and helps a lot. :D

When does the new season start and when do we get given new running costs? Will the new season be deemed to have started after the draft?

come season 7, will we have to nominate how much money will be used on physio and youth dev. before or after trading?

Hey Marc i was just wondering how much money do you have to put into Player Development (Rookies) to get 3 or more rookies. If $350k is what required for two rookies then would $500k or $550k give you three. Also how many do you get if you put in the max $750k, i think i read 4, is this correct.

Say your running costs are $2,250,000

You might allocate $600,000 to Physio, $650,000 to Youth Development.

That leaves you with $1,000,000 for signing on fees.

In money terms, the new season starts after all trading is complete (ie the 16 man squad is confirmed)

Then budgets etc. will be worked out for the new season, and once that is done, a manager will have to allocate his running costs (on which the number of rookies he'll receive is based)

As mentioned above, between the confirmation of the 16 man squad and the start of games.

I'm afraid I can't answer that.

I am the only person who knows the formulae - it is up to managers to use their judgement when selecting how much of their costs to allocate.

And I don't think the maximum rookies has ever been released...
