I dont take lightly being called an idiot by someone who doesnt even know me....

Just take a look at yourself. You are the only idiot around here.

And if you keep coming back for more, you are going to get shot down in flames very quickly indeed....
That is incredibly childish Rich. First you tell him that he has no right to call you an idiot and then you call him an idiot. What gives you that right? I ask that you two settle this via e-mail or some other way - but not on the forum.

Just noticed this...

Mike Hussey 331 not out (38 fours, 5 sixes)

His 3rd triple century in 3 years for Northants! Wow!:O It's sad that he may not play for Australia until he's in his thirties if at all.

In that innings...

Blackwell 3/206
PS Jones 1/162

Its a big shame for Hussey that hes around at time when Australia have a huge pool of batsmen to pick from.

Hussey would probably make every other international side.

Eclipse

International Debutant
Hussey just has a crazy ability to make huge scores.

He has also made alot of double Hundreds as well.

Two of those triple hundreds have been not out's as well.
He could probably have made 500's if the team just keept batting for him because he is just seriously so bloody hard to get out once he passes 100.

I can tell you the minute I noticed he was not out 140* odd over night I was pretty sure he would make a huge one.

International Vice-Captain
alright, that is nothing short of brilliant. hussey is just one of many unlucky australian batsmen who would make all other teams. to name a few; slater, blewett, hussey, cox and so on..

Can we please stop this myth.

Look at some of the other Test batting line-ups and this long list of players would not get in ALL of them by any stretch of the imagination.

For a start, none of them would come close to the Indian side, and the Pakistani middle order looks quite nice without them thank you very much.

England only have one top order spot available if that.

Yes, they're unfortunate to have not played much International Cricket, but there's no way you can say they would displace other established players from other nations.

I don't see any of our top order regularly churning out triple hundreds, do you Marc? I'm sure Hussey would walk into most lineups, although the only thing is weather he would stay there because he's never played International cricket. Marc, it is not weather he would get into the side, it is weather he would stay.

Our top order don't get the chance to play in CC any more.

If Hussey would walk into the side, I'd like to know who you'd replace with him?

Since he's an opener then it's one of Vaughan and Trescothick...

Being an opener means nothing, just ask Butcher. It would be brilliant to have an opener like Hussey pushing Trescothick and Vaughan for their places, then we wouldn't get into the same situation as we have with Harmison, ie he's not good enough but we don't have anyone else to replace him with so he gets a free ride dispite his consistant failures. Competition is allways good.

But the fact remains that not only have none of them hit a 300, but they haven't even got close. All our top order have played more than 100 games and the best (to my knowledge) is Hussain's 207, which, incidentally, was scored in a Test match, not in the CC...

International Vice-Captain
in some forms of cricket hussey has played not just as an opener, but 5 or 6 as well. i'm sure he could slot in the english lineup at 4.

it is a wrist spin programme but it leg spin really
You what?

Leg spinners' stock balls are leg breaks. If they're all right armers then it's a leg spin programme. If some are left armers then it's a wrist spin programme. End of story.

Hussey has scored 3 triple hundreds, but it is still CC, which is not the best by a long way, and Essex, Gloucestershire and Somerset are not the best attacks he could face in CC either.

I still think he'd struggle to make the England side if he were English, and to add a long list of players to him that "would make any other Test side" is just arrogance.

So you think they would have picked Ed Smith ahead of Hussey? They would have recalled Butcher ahead of Hussey? They would have recalled Vaughan ahead of Hussey?
