English Cricket season

Bazza

International 12th Man
Did anyone watch C4's coverage of the first semi?

I know everyone gives them stick for their coverage but I was impressed with the lunchtime discussion with fans asking questions. It was mostly about the imminent England test squad. Unfortunately the fans they had didn't seem to know anything about cricket. One question I remember was if Craig Spearman would be considered for England anytime soon after his impressive performances for Gloucestershire!

Also, I wasn't listening intently but a comment from Michael Atherton (I think he was talking about some ground/venue), he said "I remember getting hit in the head by Roy Gilchrist there once...."

Something Roy's not telling us? :cool2:

Tch. And here's me thinking that you wanted to praise the reporter on the match report.

Yes - and credit where credit's due - they reached the level of 'much better' this time.
Still have had to cope with a ton of Horse Racing today with the 2nd Semi, with no attempt to get back to the action, instead a good few advert breaks before showing the awards ceremonies which take an age...

I didn't see the 1st Semi though.

"Batty might have been selected for the England"

The only mistake I can find a in superb artical there Eddie! I only call it a mistake because I've been watching TV and Japanese Beckham fans have been shouting "I love Beckham, he is from the England"

Ahhhh well :)

Ta - missed out the word 'squad' .

I thought that Japanese girls didn't 'love' Beckham but rov. . . .
on second thoughts, let's not go there. Some people think that MY accent's a wittle stwange.

To tell the truth, I enjoy writing the reports 'on the fly' but two in three days has left me more than a little whacked.

Please accept my humblest apologies for the use of the phrase 'Wayward Hayward'

YESSSSSSSSSSSS we won

What a great Performance today

Well done Andy Hall

And Batty
Andrew Hall was sensational - Batty was totally awful with the ball. He'll fit into the England side well.

I see James Treadwell is going mighty fine today running through these Worcs batsman :D

6.1 Overs - 3/24 econ 3.93

And he can bat already hit a few 100's for the 2nds... and he has Chris's key point he flights the ball, even if his been hit for a few he is still willing to throw it up.

Hey I got Key and Smith in... Just Jonesy and Treaders left

... and Murali went for two sixes from his last 2 balls.

Hypnosis was working pretty well until that point.

Awful? I watched the match and I'd hardly call him "Awful"! To be fair he bowled a pretty decent line and length and turned it, and should really have got Schofield. I'd say he was pretty unlucky. Some of the shots Schofield played were beyond unorthodox.

Don't worry Eddie, Murali is working his majic from the dressing room as Worcs throw the game away.

A Singh CLASSIC!!!! - Carbs run out by at least 10 yards, however A Singh kicks the bails off well before the ball hits threfore can't be out. Carbs as we speak after that life in the early 20's now about to bring his 50 up.

G Hick had chance to save A Singh face as a simple catch at first slip (not that quick as fending, waist height) goes begging... Carbs now 52 (42)

J Kemp 2 overs so far goes for 31.

Kent 116/1 of 14 overs :D - Even the attemp by the Worcs fans of breaking the Floodlights haven't helped ;)

Oh and Welcome Home Symmo :D 45* (27 balls)

Unfortuantly Murali blinked as R Key got a big inside edge onto his pads so the Umpire gave it out... poor chap, can't buy a run at present

100 P/ship up in just 69 balls

And G Hicks first over so far has gone for 3 wides and 8 runs

Sorry, but Kent haven't won much...so I take great pleasure in winning for a change :D
