Ah, come on, even Middlebrook can bowl a good ball once in a blue moon. :p
a) It wasn't just a good ball. It was a googly that spun from a foot outside off and spun so much that it cut him in half and bowled him off his pads. :p

b) Middlebrook bowled very well recently...

Oh, that's promising. So if we were playing England and Flintoff were on his way to a test double ton, you'd bowl pies? Sounds like a good tactic. ;)

i am very worried with the blues commitment to the side, and i believe thats showing on the field. nooot good, cmon guys, pull your fingers out and start playing like the team we know we can be. personally my last game came fresh out of the crap machine.

and now after the moaning - liam man, great bowling!! and stuey, mad batting. crazy stuff in the first innings, just a pity we couldnt support you. and our fielding!!!! terrible...

i am strongly putting forward the idea of having a 7 bats 4 bowlers in the FC team and maybe even the same with ODs because we have some decent part-timers. we really need some solidarity (sp?) and as a team we need to discuss this. theres no drama, we just need to get a plan!!
Easy mate, we're far from being down and out of it. :)

I must apologise to all concerned about my absence recently as I have been away on team business. ;). However, I feel there have been many a positive while I have been away. Gutted to have lost to the ginger wizard but they have been playing fairly well recently so it was far from a disgrace.

Also in this last game, we only needed 90 more runs for victory so I think we can say that we came out the game on the up if not on a high. Let's concentrate on sticking together and sticking to encouragement for all concerned. Plus kicking some serious butt in the next few games. If it wasn't for that pesky whale-eating Scandinavian import who faced 786 balls for 251 runs we would have won.

On a personal note, great to finally get some runs going. *sigh of relief*

Keep up the good work Blues.

Strangely enough you only seem to contribute to discussion when you don't play. You've played a couple of games this season and have been completely silent.

Great win for the greens. Very happy with my first ever century in CW XI, and the fact that it was not out puts the icing on the cake.
Short memory span? You scored 143 ( ? ) a few FC games back.

I'll take that as a compliment.

FC average gone up to forty for the season as well. What on earth is going on?

Can the Greens get a change of keepers?Only keeps dropping catches and i don't think her batting's doing enough.

I've noticed that most of the catches dropped come off my bowling. I would like some more wickets. On another note, glad with my 68.Still can't get a century yet but it'll come.

Don't worry Rose...we all get our fair share of catches dropped. They will gradually stop being dropped, however, as I have complete faith in our Captain's training sessions...they've worked well for me this season, at least!

If Eyes drops too many more catches Jamee may take over the 4d gloves as well, or i might keep for a few games.... will make a decision after the next 5d game.

CW BLACK 229 43.3 overs
CRICKET WEB RED 224 44.3 overs

CW Black won by 5 runs

Man of the match: Chris Broadbent

Daily Blast Comment: The Reds grabbed defeat from the grasp of victory in a game of twists and turns. After the CW Red bowlers fought back from CW Black's fiery start with the bat, they were in control for most of the game and looked to be cruising home until Pickup intervened with 2 wickets in an over. From then in the Reds lost 8 for 65 and their last 5 wickets went for just 26 runs. Disappointing for the Reds and a pleasant surprise for the Blacks.

AUSTRALIA 'A' 340/8 50.0 overs
CRICKET WEB BLUE 276/7 50.0 overs

Australia 'A' won by 64 runs

Man of the match: Michael Clarke

Daily Blast Comment: CW Blue just completely outplayed by the Aussies. Michael Hussey got on top of the bowling in typical Australia fashion and his team-mates never let go. The Blues bowlers were simply hammered, bar the fine work of Broncoman - an unlikely hero with the ball. Batting, CW Blue may have been in with a chance had they gotten off to a better start, but alas the pressure of scoring at almost 7 runs per over for most of the innings told and the batsmen fell short. When you give up 92 runs in the first 10 over and 303 in 40, you're looking for trouble.

* After 35 - 161/6

ENGLAND 'A' 167 47.5 overs
CRICKET WEB GREEN 169/6 35.3 overs

Cricket Web Green won by 4 wickets

Man of the match: Biased Indian

Daily Blast Comment: A very solid win for CW Green. Top class bowling and a couple of good innings saw them home. Hoy, Rose and Indian were accurate and mixed their pace well to take 7 wickets between them and then, after 2 early wickets fell, Biased Indian was money with the bat too, scoring a brisk half-century. The middle order was solid without being spectacular, but it took a veteran's innings from Darkness to steer the Greens home.

Unlucky there Reds, sometimes when a team is out of form they forget how to win. It is a shame Dave couldn't hang around with me there at the end, oh so close.

I know it wasn't a win, but we are still doing o.k. in the OD comp, so no need to panic, just yet. The bowlers restricted a strong Black batting line-up, and it was obviously a tough pitch.

On a personal note, I am not happy with being so expensive! :@

Four catches dropped... middle order goes to pieces against occasional bowlers... thankfully Smithy, Broadie and me got us out of that hole.

Fortunately we were up against the Reds this week... we can win like this, think what'll happen when we actually play well!

Sudeep

International Captain
A very disappointing loss...

We gave away too many runs. My fielding is not improving, another dropped catch. God knows what's wrong, I hope I'll be able to clear that aspect as soon as possible.

I'm not entirely happy with my contributions over the last 2-3 games. Another mediocre one here...

Good bowling by broncoman, and extremely good batting by Jason Toogood and Dylan Jellet. If only we could have bowled and fielded better in the first 10 overs.

Chasing that mammoth a score is always difficult, if we'd have kept them 30-35 runs short, I'm sure we'd have been able to knock them off.
