Coach's Comments:
Fantastic innings by Ash Chaulk to obliterate the monkey on his back with a maiden hundred. However, he was the only batsman willing to carry on from a start and the onus was left on the bowlers to win the game. In this, the final game of the season, the seamers showed the signs of fatigue from a long and hard stretch of cricket. None of the seamers found any rhythm and they all distinctly lacked pace. Indeed, Xavier Rose's form of late is really beginning to be worry all concerned. Mr Mxyzptlk found no joy either, 8-0-68-0 in the second innings. A disappointing loss, but a bit understandable.

Coach's Comments:
It's been a hard and long toil for Marc in red this season, but he seems to have finally found his feet with the bat. Some much needed FC form ahead of Pakistan, Marc was brutal on his way to his 3rd FC hundred, his second highest FC score. Together with Bugssy and useful contributions from the lower order, a challenging lead was set up, following fine bowling from Muhaffy, Neil Pickup and co. In the second innings the Reds let it slip, however, allowing the Kiwis to advance to 431 all out from 237/5. That said, the bowlers bowled their hearts out, just like the Greens. It just wasn't enough. Eyes Only and Cloete guided the game to a comfortable draw.

Coach's Comments:
Peter Young continues to bathe himself in form with a couple of lovely innings for the Blues in this one. A first innings collapse left his team struggling to play catch-up however. 170/4 to 235 all out was not a pretty scene, Samuel Vimes high and dry with a purposeful innings. The bowlers pressed, but found no response on the flat surface at the SCG. Langeveldt and Tom Halsey were useful, but it was Nath Patrick who kept the Blues in it. In the second innings, StUEy, Buts and Young did nicely in the middle order, but crucial knocks from Sam Vimes and Langeveldt wer ethe real measure of the fightback. Langeveldt was breathtaking in scoring his second FC hundred and first of the season, to cap an impressive captains effort overall. Attempting to defend 350, it looked good for a while, but the Englishmen took the attack to the spinners and unsettled them, only Nath Patrick making a real impact in a heartbreaking defeat.
