He was an Indian but Sth Afr never played a Test against India until recent times, so I am thinking he must have been selected for Eng or NZ? :wacko:

Yes correct. It seems he played the First Test(in 1929 series v SA) , but had to stand down from the rest of the series because of SA protesting his involvement for England when he was born in India .
