He faced Imran and Hadlee at their peaks, Lillee close to his.

And at this point Luffy is just throwing **** at the wall to see what sticks.
Yeah he had good series against great pace bowlers. But you can't just call it toughest era for West Indian batsmen because what made it arguably toughest was West Indian attack itself. You go on dissecting Gavaskar's record against attacks with multiple ATG pace bowlers by grounds. You can't not simultaneously recognise that Viv Richards never faced such examination.

Sunny's entire reputation vs pace was built up on his WI record, especially in the WI.

It's not what it's ever appeared to be.

Again, no one's suggesting that Sunny wasn't a top 10 guy, I literally just said it. But to somehow pretend that he was as good as Viv vs pace is antithetical to the truth.

Yeah, the rewriting of history to try to prove a point is a little silly, but Luffy is trying.

And PC just likes to create chaos.

And again, Mr. Gavaskar is a ATG opener and batsman, one of the rare breed of the former, and a top 10 bat. No one's disputing that.
Bold coming from someone calling Sobers Don's equal.....

To pretend that Viv Richards faced the same pace examination as Gavaskar (or Border or Miandad or Gooch) is also patently false.
