They are not over the top at all, Blackman and Borcich have been acting like clowns for a couple of seasons now. People shouldn't have to put up with that kind of **** from anyone. As far as im concerned they got what was coming to them and the length of the bans are more than fair. The amount of abuse and smartass comments they've produced has me staggered that this hasn't happenned any earlier to be honest.

BARNES OUT
I've never notcied Borcich do anything out of order in CWXI until this season where he moved from Red to Black. He was part of the leadership group at Red, I believe.

They haven't done anything within the CWXI system to merit the banning for an entire season for example. But clearly some sort of ban is in order.

Personally i've not been aware of any major unpleasantry within the CW system, so they've obviously not been as far reaching as you say.

And they're OTT because you're friends with the people punished?

People tend to reap what they sow - if they can't take it then they shouldn't dish it out...

No, a life ban might've been more appropriate if you were being brutally honest.

Posts arent very hard to find, they're bullying tactics and insults are every where for example have a look in the Black thread.

No, they are over the top because Blackman received a one season suspension over something that happened on MSN (and thus, had nothing to do with CW) and a string of other small incidents. Likewise with Borcich, who has done close to nothing wrong, apart from calling Hoy "soft" and telling Tharmi to "retire". Slightly veering from the topic here, but I actually can't believe how excessive peoples reactions have been to those comments - average skin thickness around here must be rather low?

Um, now I'm guessing this is what you'd call "running on fumes". Perhaps, had Borcich & Blackman given suspensions to the CWBCC and then complained when the same happened to them, OR they had been the subject of some "abuse" and complained, then it would be relevant. But I don't see any relevance, merely you being trigger happy with the cliches. What's next, Marc? "A Blackman in the hand is worth two in the bush"?

I consider the people that i speak to on MSN regularly as the people that i'm closest to on CW, in that respect people like Pitt/Casson/Smith(more so since the beginning of CW football) are the type of people that i speak to.
I've spoken to Borcich once on MSN and Blackman never, so i'd hardly say i was friends with them.

If you being brutally honest, your posts on this matter have more than a hint of bias without justification.

Demeza, Rodgie and Camps must surely recieve some sort of warning/ban for their comments if there is to be any consistency.

Don't you realise that there's other people who read this thread and could take offence?

Yes,

I do realise that but it was a one off having a bit of a joke people need to lighten up as the result of these two getting banned has been people getting overly angry and just causing more trouble

Bullying isn't justification then - people have had enough of the crap and left because of it, yet some people are portraying the culprits as the innocent victims in all this.

What a load of crap. Who is portraying them as "innocent victims"? The strawman in your head? Everyone who has posted here has said that Blackman should have been banned. Merely that banning him for a whole season is absurdly over the top.

I'd like to look at how we would describe the whole CW system. I believe this is a simulation league, where a group of people on an online forum can partake in both international and domestic cricket using a cricket simulator and various discussion threads where we can live our "play" lives as highly talented cricketers (Does not include Jack McNamara, whose "play" life is merely training for his "real" life).

In order to run our "play" life, we copy the way other domestic leagues are run throughout the world. We have team clubhouses, captains, vice-captains, selection issues, media, player strike, etc. We also follow the concept of punishments, like in real life where punishments are handed out for match fixing, ball tampering, and bringing the game into disrepute.

In our league, we seem to have banned two players for "abusing" other players. Lets think about that for a moment, abusing other players. Now I understand that this is against our code of cunduct. But with due regard to attempt to keep things "realistic" as we so often strive to do, isn't this abit much? Where do players in real life get season bans for having a go at one another. I believe abuse between players is so common in actual professional leagues, yet we aren't seeing any season lengths bannings for them. I feel that this is over the top, particularly as I don't believe we should be innovating the cricket world by giving out season bans for merely player abuse.

My two yen.

Yep gun post from Kenny. I'm hoping common sense will prevail here and the bans shortened. I also back Mitchell's calls for consistency with the rules to be applied to those who have made some outrages and insulting comments within this thread.
