I'd like to look at how we would describe the whole CW system. I believe this is a simulation league, where a group of people on an online forum can partake in both international and domestic cricket using a cricket simulator and various discussion threads where we can live our "play" lives as highly talented cricketers (Does not include Jack McNamara, whose "play" life is merely training for his "real" life).
In order to run our "play" life, we copy the way other domestic leagues are run throughout the world. We have team clubhouses, captains, vice-captains, selection issues, media, player strike, etc. We also follow the concept of punishments, like in real life where punishments are handed out for match fixing, ball tampering, and bringing the game into disrepute.
In our league, we seem to have banned two players for "abusing" other players. Lets think about that for a moment, abusing other players. Now I understand that this is against our code of cunduct. But with due regard to attempt to keep things "realistic" as we so often strive to do, isn't this abit much? Where do players in real life get season bans for having a go at one another. I believe abuse between players is so common in actual professional leagues, yet we aren't seeing any season lengths bannings for them. I feel that this is over the top, particularly as I don't believe we should be innovating the cricket world by giving out season bans for merely player abuse.
My two yen.
