*Breaking News* CWBCC Suspends Two Players

There's nothing wrong with taking prior offences into account. In fact, that's a perfectly reasonable thing to do. That doesn't mean that these absurdly long bans are the correct way to go, though, especially when there's no clear incident (other than Hoy retiring) which can be seen as the "final straw". It'd be appropriate to give Blackman a heavy ban (say 5-10 games) for the Butler issue, and I'm not exactly sure what Borcich did, but a similar ban may be warranted in his case. I do think what he did should be explained though, as nobody, including him, seems to have any idea exactly what the ban is for, other than some sort of generic case of "poor behaviour".

Having said all that, this sort of massive punishment as some sort of warning is uncalled for, and is equivalent to treating dandruff by decapitation.

Above witty rejoinder is copyright Frank Zappa, 1988.
Well, for Borcich, we can start with insulting the CW coach.. Plus, a post which had to be edited by the mods due to strong language. As said. A straw.

I also love the way you (or Zappa, if you wish...) compare events that have made one of the more active players, and genuinely good blokes, to retire entirely from the game, to "dandruff". The reason we have code of conduct rules is to make sure everyone feels wanted and to play the game in reasonably good spirits. It's pretty obvious this is not happening.

Of course, in the interest of fairness, the players in question will be allowed to appeal through the PA Rep, but that should be done whilst maintaining respect for the decisions of the powers that be.

Well to be perfectly honest, all I need to say in comment of your wise words is that I wish you could command the english language a little better .... it would make my life, and other people who didn't voice their opinion so publically, easier.

On'ya Rodgie! 8-)
Thanks Demeza thats fine your out to cause arguments are you not?

Demeza's hot headed response justifies a short ban or a stern warning.
Rodgie 'pube' post justifies a warning for a first offence.

Come on guys, consistency.

the bans are a joke.

Do you people not take the piss out of your mates in real life?

Why does everyone have to be nice to each other?

It's a shame that someone quit over it all but really he would have got similar treatment by ex team mates in real life...

There is a difference between having a joke amongst your mates and abusing people, that line was well and truely crossed on numerous occasions last season. I wouldnt be surprised if more bans were to follow.

I thought the wave of repression in CW Land was over with the ousting of Murphy, but it seems to have spread to our cricket system.
Because heaven forbid that these people have actually done anything wrong.

No, of course it's all repression isn't it?

As far as I'm concerned they've got what's been coming to them, and fully deserve it.

Okay, before I deal with the fact that this post is a complete slagging off of another player, have you not noticed that I'm CW Black captain now
Small point, but I can't say I've seen anything that officially says you've been appointed...

the bans were given, and I think CWBCC would lose it's credibility if it went to change the ban.
I'm sure the CWBCC debated it, and came to a conclusion, fair deal.

Hahaha, Demeza, has a sook whenever people don't listen to him, then starts cursing. Definitely souring the CW XI experience. Awaiting some action from the CWBCC in this regard...

Cuts deep, Marc.

I'm obviously standing in until a full decision has been made, but I've got Neil's backing as well as numerous other people in positions of power.

I'm talking about the over the top punishments. Happened then, and it's happened again.
