Best bowling actions

*sigh*...obviously, someone involved with the article at least thought Vaas was a possible candidate for such an accusation...

No, the writer wanted to inflame things, hence the list of players he chose were predominantly from a certain continent.

The ICC , the umpires and experts have seen Vaas bowl , and they didnt think his action leans towards throwing any more than McGraths or Gillespies does .

Murali has been called for chucking because of a few idiot Umpires who thought they knew better than learned physicians at one of the best Universities in The World. Kirtley and Shoaib have been called (or accused) because people haven't looked properly at "hyper"-extension. Lee has been accused mainly because of optical-illusions that exist for practically every bowler if you look hard enough. Lawson I can't comment on because I've never seen him bowl but if his action wasn't blatantly illegal like Perera's was at Lord's a couple of years ago I'd bet he was again just the victim of optical-illusion jumping on the bandwagon because he is young and quick.
I think you'll find that when Murali was first called it was before he was sent for testing, so the umpires could have merely been doing their jobs at the time......

for pace bowlers i think it would be hard to go past lilee and hadlee(who ironically idolised and based his action upon lilee), for spinners shane warne has a very good legspinners action and for left-armers there isn't too much wrong with vettori's.

Apparently Harmison can bowl his all day with minimum effort, though his isn't the most textbook action. Being 6ft 6in certainly helps!

When we are talking about Pace bowlers, there is only one Rolls Royce and the rest are a league behind.
he is one certain Michael Holding.
NO ONE has or had a better action than him.

I would pick Donald as the next man and Akram as the third.

For spinners, its Bedi, Gibbs and Qadir

And whoever said Thommo's action was the best has gotto be joking.
Thommo had a slingshot action like Waqar Younis......and those actions make you much more prone to injury..indeed, Thommo spent the latter half of his career being injured more often than not and by the time he was done, his knees were shot...... bowling action is one based on innate comfort but i would suggest the thommo-Waqar action to anyone unless i wanna see them going downhill in half a decade or so(happened to both Waqar and THommo).

PAKMAN

State 12th Man
WASIM AKRAM ,AAQIB JAVED,ALLAN DONALD ,ABDUL QADIR,ANIL KUMBLE has a unique action iv tried too copy t as i can copy all the others but cudnt, and SHAHID AFRIDI

Part of Thommo's downfall did have something to do with a collision with Turner though.......and he was never quite the same afterwards.

I've always liked Kumble's action as well, very smooth and fluid and with the height he has it makes it work very well.

For a bit of West Indian representation...

Reon King and Omari Banks. Honourable mention to Fidel Edwards for entertainment value, though not so much now as when he debuted.

Of other countries, Glenn McGrath is a machine, as is Shaun Pollock. Irfan Pathan and Zaheer Khan are pretty solid too.

Seeing him bowl in the President's Cup recently he looked a lot closer to his old self than he has at any time since the injury. Pace, corridor location, aggression. I think he's in with a good shot to go to Australia and I was reading an interview a while back where he said he thinks that between now and next year's Carib Cup is his last opportunity to break back into maroon. Still, he's not taking anything for granted and seems to have a very good head on his shoulders.

Wow, thats good news.. Really enjoy watching him bowl.. King and Edwards would be great fun.. I thought King was completely finished a few years ago
