Then you are underrating Lloyd too.I actually believe Lloyd is a very good batsman and was underrated in that poll, but still ABD wins easily.

Their Era adjusted average is almost same.I really don't get Mark Waugh over Laxman. They have a 4.2 runs average difference, which is perfectly on point. I too rate Steve over Dravid, but no ways the distance is even the same with Laxman and Mark.
Their career length isn't and Laxman played from 96, he played half of the 90s. If you are adjusting averages between two eras such that whole ass 4 runs are being made of, you are doing something wrong. Might as well rate Mark Taylor over Graeme Smith.Their Era adjusted average is almost same.
Yeah. They need to look outside the box, Waugh and Laxman are definitely close.Their Era adjusted average is almost same.
Yeah so he mostly sucked in the bowling friendly 90s and succeeded in the 2000s when he went down the order. Why should that be rewarded?Their career length isn't and Laxman played from 96, he played half of the 90s. Then rate him as a 50 averaging bat, if you ignore his 90s career. Can't have both.Yeah so he mostly sucked in the bowling friendly 90s and succeeded in the 2000s when he went down the order. Why should that be rewarded?
Mark Waugh? I don't think so.@subshakerz do you rate Waugh over Clarke??
Yeah, I rate Laxman over Clarke. Waugh a tier behind them.Mark Waugh? I don't think so.
I don't ignore it. I include it which is one reason I downgrade him. Then rate him as a 50 averaging bat, if you ignore his 90s career. Can't have both.
Yeah that's wild sorry. Clarke was the best bat in the world in the 2010s even if he was a bit overrated.Yeah, I rate Laxman over Clarke. Waugh a tier behind them.
Yeahhhhhh....... Doesn't makes sense to me to not rate Clarke-Pietersen-Laxman next to each other. Sorry.Yeah that's wild sorry. Clarke was the best bat in the world in the 2010s even if he was a bit overrated.
Except he ****ing opened in the 90s, something he did never even in domestic level.I don't ignore it. I include it which is one reason I downgrade him.
Growing pains. Again we downgrade Waugh for the same reason, he couldn't bat well up the order in the few times he got before finding his place.Except he ****ing opened in the 90s, something he did never even in domestic level.
Except Laxman has a pretty good record at 3 and 4. He just was never an opener who was forced to open.Growing pains. Again we downgrade Waugh for the same reason, he couldn't bat well up the order in the few times he got before finding his place.
Thanks voted Clarke.
Quite surprised at that tbh
I don't think having the wrong batting position is a valid enough excuse to ignore someone's record especially when comparing to someone who spent more of this career ahead of him.Except Laxman has a pretty good record at 3. He just was never an opener who was forced to open.
