Chandrasinghe doing a great job for WA making sure Vics get as few points for the first 100 overs as possible
He still on 25* after batted so many overs on day 1 of 5 day final. He should Rotate the strikeChandrasinghe looks organised and all but he's taking "shotless wonder" to a new level here.
Learn to bat. **** this imo.Anyone think Chandrasinghe has a negative effect on batting partners? How do you get in to a rhythm as a batsman
Depends, potentially yes.Anyone think Chandrasinghe has a negative effect on batting partners? How do you get in to a rhythm as a batsman
Dammit, strike rate of 18's really far too high imo**** me he got four. Gloved over the keeper. Rats.
This would be consistent with the rates they were being missed in Australia before the third umpire/semi-automated check was brought in for every ball tbhSome wazzock on BigFooty reckons Morris has bowled at least twenty un-called no-balls in only 10.5 overs. Even if that's a bit of an exaggeration it really is an umpiring failure rather than a bowling failure.
The least I could find in a complete day for a test is Boycott 63* (269), on his way 77 (337) at Perth in 1978. Not sure that is the actual answer, it's probably somewhere on Davis's blog. It's actually not a very easy question though.Obviously this isn't a Test but I'd still be curious to see records for the least number of runs scored by a player who batted for a full day.
You wouldn't think so. Sutherland has delivered in fc cricket and at Melbourne too. Then Morris comes along and because pace is ***y gets the ticket into the test squad.Does he need to be crazy fast when we have guys like johnson and morris running around and sutherland is 6'5 and regularly takes wickets bowling first change? If he can operate in the mid 130's from his height he'll be fine.
I mean, even by just watching he’s clearly in the top 2 under 25s (with Jhye being first). That’s it Jhye is even that young anymore? Also he’s super injury proneI can't say I really rated Sutherland when he first came on the scene, although admittedly that was probably coloured by my low opinion of his old man at that stage
But what he's done in Shield cricket over the last 2-3 years, he has definitely made more than a strong case to be considered for higher honours. Don't have the numbers on me but I would think he would have to be likely the leading quick in that 25 and under age bracket. 100% should be there or there abouts, at least in the medium term
Jhye's a bit older now. I agree that he is the most likely looking of the youngish domestic quicks, but as you say injuries are definitely a major cause for concernI mean, even by just watching he’s clearly in the top 2 under 25s (with Jhye being first). He’s not really young, but where does Johnson rank on that list?Couple of other names that come to mind, but I restricted this to just those who have played Shield this season. Probably someone I'm forgetting though
Personally I would want to say top, but putting my own biases aside for a moment I would guess probably just behind Morris at this stageHe’s not really young, but where does Johnson rank on that list?
