Australian Domestic Season 2022-23

Sutherland 100% should have been in the Australia A squad. Absolurely been one of the best domestic bowlers in the last couple of seasons.

Don't think any of the fast bowler selections are absolutely terrible, but Will Sutherland should have been there by virtue of his body of work in the Shield

Stekkeke is a bit all over the place and absolutely **** the bed when he played county for kent last year (albeit on some flat decks). He's done well for AUS-A and in the shield whenever he's played in the past 2 years but I don't really rate him too much.
His county stint really was absolutely terrible.

Good shield bowler is Steketee, but shouldn't be anywhere near the Aus team. Too prone to having the odd shocking spell, his best, while good, is not enough to compensate for that

He's signed for Essex, which is why he's not in the AUS-A squad AFAIK. deal hadent been announced when the squad came out. I'm still a bit concerned given that handscomb was named, then announced a county deal after and replaced by Jewell, not outright ignored, but it's hard to say where the various deals where at the time.

Ahh I guess that makes sense then, good experience for him

On Handscomb, why any county team would want him in the first place is a complete mystery to me. Yes, even Leicestershire

Don't know why the commentators are surprised by Morris not taking the new ball, it was always going to be Paris and Kelly over him

Yeah absolutely. It really isn't that difficult to just bring some scorecards up on crapinfo and see he has barely ever opened the bowling

Interesting passage of play coming up, Short will be looking to play some shots while Chandrasinghe seems content to just hang around

If Paris takes a bag full this game a, does well for Aus-A in NZ and manages to keep himself fit up till the ashes is he a chance of sneaking his way into the ashes squad? I know the left arm quick everyone is focusing on atm is Johnson and he probably has a higher cieling then Paris on raw attributes but Paris has 130 FC wickets @21 and whenever hes fit enough to play shield he spreads cheeks. Also reckon his Modus operandi is perfect for English conditions.b

SL Origin Ashley Chandrasinghe scored Debut hundred off 333 ball vs bowling of Siddle, Meredith & jackson Bird

He looks Talented player, played many dot ball

BTW Australian brains trust, this is what happens when you leave a guy sitting on the sidelines for months at a time. Rhythm tends to diminish a bit.

Also I think Morris could do with running in a bit faster a la Nortje - but make sure he's not bowling no-balls first.

And the one's ****ing close too.

Turned the stream on just in time to see Morris dismiss Chandrasinghe... and it's ****ing no ball.
Think he got Harris out off a no ball earlier aswell. Didn't see it live but comms said "Edged to first slip, it's a no ball" two balls before morris got him LBW.

The problem is that if the umpire is barely bothering to look for the no-balls because they can send it upstairs when there's a wicket, he'll only know he's bowling them when he takes a wicket (unless he has eyes on the bottom of his feet like cnerd thinks bowlers have).
