Johnson with one wicket and nearly a second in his first over. Got dean and had harris dropped at slip by mcsweeney.

Why is nikitaras even playing in this side? Does he have a phenomenal grade record or something?

Maxwell apparently copped a wrist fracture fielding at slip on his return to cricket earlier today. If he continues to get injured, who's our #7 for the WC in india later this year? He is such a huge part of our ODI side's balance, particularly in the SC.

I'm not sure broken leg and wrist injury at slip really show a proneness to injury. They seem to like freak occurances to me.

The development of sutherland's game has been really impressive this season. Averaging mid 30's with the bat batting 6/7 and has 30 odd wickets @ under 20 bowling 1st/2nd change. If haze isn't consistently fit for test cricket anymore reckon sutherland could do a good job in his place.

Fantastic hundred from Inglis today, dug WA out of a massive hole. 2 more rounds of shield and the final to come after this, hopefully Inglis can string a few more scores together. This is the first time he's had consistent first class Gametime in a long time.

Disappointing to see Hardie fail again though.

Yeah he's had a really disapointing summer in the red ball stuff. Had one good game vs QLD but outside of that hes been pretty ordinary. It's weird since either side of that he had a fantastic BBL season. WA haven't really let him settle into a batting position tbf, he's batted everywhere from 5 to 8 without any consistency in his position, but you'de expect better from a player of his quality.

100 for Pierson aswell coming in at 5-80. Feels so weird having 3 guys who could all be test keepers when 4-5 years ago the only option was Paine and even he wasnt always guaranteed a spot.

lmao at Spencer Johnson and Manenti going to play for Italy. Joe Burns will also soon be in contention. Rocchiccioli too should play imo

When exactly was this time when Paine was considered the only option? It certainly wasn't when he got picked before the 2017-18 Ashes, that one came so far out of left field that many (myself included) didn't entirely initially believe it when the rumours of that first popped up. Agree completely on Pierson though, he has developed into a quality cricketer.

Pretty much Tim David logic, players seeking opportunities in different and obscure places to grow their game is something I believe cricket will be seeing more and more of

Would rather Johnson didn't go if I'm honest though, would absolutely hate it if he picked up an injury over there
