Batted first against Moses Majestics and after losing a couple of early wickets, Kepler (109), Gardiner (78), Gibson (70*) and Bartlett (49*) boosted us up to a competitive 330/4. Moses Majestics are 32/1 after 7 overs, having been pegged back by an early wicket from Turner. Could be close this.

Had, again, my best BT win ever in terms of scalp. We were seventh and they were third.

Asha's Bashers - 268/9 off 50 overs
Kutloano 97 (135)
Aubrey 59 (63)
Prendergast 51 (52)
Hindle 4/43 (10)
Holmes 2/54 (10)
Smart 2/57 (10)
Lake 0/39 (10)
Copeland 0/64 (10)

defeated by the might of

Brackenhurst - 269/4 off 45.2 overs
Burnip 117 (139)
Hamlin 108 (100)
Browne 27* (20)
Belle 3/33 (8)

Holmes with the first two wickets was absolutely crucial, Smart made some good breaks and then Hindle was absolutely on fire. Such a good death bowler. They were about 30 runs short of where they should've been, and then after being 6/2, Burnip and Hamlin were incredible. Such a big win, king of the upset victory are Brackenhurst!

Great opening spells from Woods and Turner. With the RRR already creeping above 7, I'm feeling pretty confident.

At the halfway point in their innings and this could still go either way:

End of Over 25: 132-3, runrate=5.28, reqrunrate=7.96 (330-4)
Talbot 3-0-14-0
Barnett* 15 (21 balls)
Marshall 53 (56 balls)

Last Wicket: Hammond b. Westwood 35 (FOW: 106/3)

Westwood went for a lot of runs but took his wicket with the last ball of his first 5-over spell. With Woods and Talbot bowling the last 10 overs, we should have an element of control, but if they need 100 from the last 60 balls, it could be squeaky bum time. A couple of wickets would do nicely now.

Wrapped up an easy win:

And that's the end of the match. Beard XI won by 167 runs.
Beard XI 305-4
Golden B4 Crispy 138-10

Their last wicket put on 30 runs though, which was a bit weird. That man Weller again. Maybe I shouldn't have sold him. :)

Seems to me that everything's up one level, barring numpty batting (no change) and spin (two levels). I think general consensus is that PAN-->GFI give you 1/2 to 2/3 extra ratings so, assuming TIE-->PAN is similar, it fits. Given that the spin rating may come from just one player, it could be that form or PFL variations have given it the extra level.
Top order and Spin were two levels above what they were. PFL's of my top order hadnt changed, maybe some sub levels i guess.

11 overs to go, Moses Majestics need 111 for the win. It's time for Woods and Talbot to step up to the plate and keep it tight in these last few overs. Another wicket or two should help as I don't think they have much batting after this. Come on boys.

I reckon we're in trouble here

End of Over 45: 280-4, runrate=6.22, reqrunrate=10.20 (330-4)
Woods 8-0-53-0
Barnett* 90 (84 balls)
Sandile 45 (29 balls)

103 needed from 10 becomes 51 needed from 5 - they're on track. Woods is taking some serious punishment. I'm yet to find a decent death-bowler.

42 from 4. Wish I'd gone GFI.

37 from 3 - gun over from Woods. All singles, and then he bowls Sandile with the last ball of the over!

31 from 2.4 - Talbot gets hit for 6 and then gets his man next ball. Two new batsmen at the crease, it's there for the taking now.

28 from 2 - another wicket down as one of the new batsmen goes first ball. Essay writing has ground to a halt.

24 from 1 - superb last two overs from Woods. Just 9 runs from them.

All over! Talbot cleans up with 3 wickets in 4 balls and 5 wickets in 9 to finish with figures of 5/60. The Heath CC win by 19 runs, and breathe a collective sigh of relief!

Talbot gets MOTM for his 5/60 in 9.4 overs, ahead of Kepler who scored 109 from 96 balls. Quite surprised by that, as I thought the batsmen are always favoured over bowlers when it comes to deciding MOTM. I'm pleased though, Talbot was immense. What was that about not having found a good death bowler? Hmmmm.

Up to 4th in my OD league now, look good for staying up there as well, so after thinking I would probably get automatically relegated, I might even avoid the playoff places.

Whenuapai win by 1329 runs.

Could have won this in one day probably but I opted to see out the 3 days for the £££. Duggan didn't have to bat, while Morrison, Vermaak and Lee were all rested. Hopefully this will be put me in the bets possible position for Saturday's huge showdown. Win and we are well and truly in the title race equal on points with the leaders, but lose and, well, we'll drop back towards the pack, 8 points adrift. We're 1-1 in one day cricket against Team Monster so there isn't really any reason why we shouldn't be able to beat them.
