Well I must say that I was quite surprised by today's games. Lots of games seemed to have batsmen striking at 5 or 6 an over, so it seems my thinking that most players would be better suited on defensive or normal may be wrong. That said, am keeping Farmer on defensive given his marathon 30 (103), which really helped the team. Was also surprised by Canning-- a superb/respectable attacking batsman, set on very attacking, against at times a competent bowler, and he ended up with a SR of only around 50. Then again, the slow strike rates of him and my team could just be to do with the pitch, which was dusty.
So, I'm planning on making a few changes to the team overnight; have put my other opener on attacking now to partner Farmer. I'm also considering putting Griffin from normal to defensive, or maybe attacking, so that he either stays in, or scores some runs quickly. I'm also definitely taking my parttimer Drench off his bowling priority and going in with just the 5 bowlers. He may have taken two wickets, but they were tailenders, and I'm sure that my strong and proficient spinners could have done better than a mediocre fast bowler on a dusty pitch. Anyone else making any changes?
