I just registered for Batrick.

In the South African league because 0 waiting list and a 10-7/8 working hour means I can catch some of the action of the South African games towards the end of their matches.

Now waiting. Email said I would be in within 2 days.

Also, it would be a good idea to have UEFA Cup and Champions league formats in Batrick if not incorporated already. Certainly would make things more interesting.
there is a cup for you country but its in round 4 i think now

Their keeper Mccafferty came in at 4/36, and it was basically him that took it so close, but we got there in the end :)

Where did you find that list ash? Howard Moore is an interesting one - competent batting and remarkable 'keeping, wages 9,801 per week. Wicketkeepers aren't worth that much IMO unless they have really good batting - I've found that even feeble keepers do a decent job of keeping byes down to less than 10. I wouldn't mind a couple of those strong/superb allrounders though...

I'm seriously contemplating selling my captain in the near future. He's a 23yo strong/competent allrounder, but he has worthless consistency so I don't like bowling him too much, though at the moment I'm getting away with bowling him in most matches. I'd want to replace him with a 17yo respectable/mediocre, or proficient/feeble or something - someone with potential to be better than him, basically. He'd have to sell for over 500-600k for it to be worthwhile though, given the cost of 17yo's. Only problem is I don't have anyone else with leadership better than respectable, apart from a 29yo bowler who I'm trying to sell.

My other transfer prospect is Bridge - 21yo respectable batsman with mediocre WK and decent secondaries, though I've never used him as a WK. Might stick him on the market at an inflated price (say 200k) to see if anyone bites, then replace him with a younger specialist bat with similar skill. Or my youth academy could give me someone decent, I live in hope...

Apparently there's a problem with the HT server (which hosts BT... or something) and other people have been affected by it. No problems for me though...

Having my opening bowlers bowl through now, a team decided to bat first at on my green pitch... 60 all out. I've played 2nd and 4th in the league already (they're 2-1, I gave 'em the 1) - this team is third... Looks like my debutant isn't going to do anything at all in this game.

What's Emmanuel's bowling skill? Must be around strong with wages like that?

Thanks for that link Adam, it's working for me while battrick.org.uk isn't

I just got this guy:
Earl Whibread (317103)
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A cautious player with superb leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Magical Ponies
Nationality: England
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 3,926
Wages: £267 p/w

Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: abysmal Concentration: competent
Bowling: feeble Consistency: feeble
Fielding: woeful

I have no real young bowlers, so hopefully this guy can do something for me after some training. Was only 1,000 pounds.

Yea, his other attributes are crap, but I get the impression he could get virtually anyone out (it's a massive bonus to get those 100+ averaging players out cheaply). This is also why I'm loathed to get rid of respectable fielders - it seems to me they're another prime source in getting the 100+ players out, amongst other wickets (Packer for instance got a few catches in that game).

Interesting - I haven't really paid much attention to fielding ratings as none of my players are better than competent, but checking over the stats just now seems to suggest that there is a noticeable correlation between fielding ratings and catches taken.

That player with a BT rating of over 6 million that someone mentioned earlier apparently had the following ratings:

Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: superb
Batting: woeful Concentration: elite
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: elite
Fielding: elite

Was a bug though, so he's been killed, or at least regenerated as a relatively crap youth pull. Would be interesting to see if a woeful/elite batsman is any good though.
