International Captain
won an important match today in my sides quest to finally go up to division II. we were 31/3, before lennon (155*) hit his 4th 100, and cuss (competent, 3800 bt rating journey) scored his maiden 100, hitting 102 in a 4th wicket partnership worth 254. cuss went with 2 balls left in the innings meaning duggan finished 1* (1). we made a healthy 286/4, while duggan's fitness wasn't hurt too much i hope. their openers gave me quite a scare on the hard and fast pitch reaching 93/0 in the 19th over, before they started losing wickets before succumbing for 207.

this season we still haven't lost, going 12 games without defeat. however, in what is probably the teams biggest match to date in the cup on monday against afc wombles, home of joe harriot who is one of the best batsmen going in battrick. if we get to bowl first, hopefully my bowlers will find a way to limit what their openers can do. if this is achieved i think maybe duggan with the aide of hamshaw and waddell may just be able to get us over the line. i do not think we'll be able to defend a score against them, so i just hope that we win that toss. fitness level must be sublime++++ by now, so hopefully that will count for something. i've left posts on the nz sledging board suggesting that i intend to TIE, when in actual fact, that is a lie. yup. but anyhow, looks like it'll be back to friendlies from next week onwards :(

New YP, looking for a bowler to be the 5th member in the 3 man pace "rotation". If it goes well, it'll mean that I can choose from any of Johnson, Sugden, Bradford and new bowler to take 2 spots with Bardle, and 3 with out Gareth.

Here goes.

Code:
Graham Loxley (839273)
LH Batsman, LF Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh
A destructive player with feeble leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: Jamees 999ers
Nationality: England
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 4,790
Wages: £999 p/w

Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: feeble
Bowling: respectable Consistency: feeble
Fielding: worthless
Get in :D Get in Get In Get in :D

This gives me a nets dilemma though. I'll deal with that sometime.

Loxley and Bardle will take up most of the nets. The rest will go to Aldred, except one which will go to Gowshall.

10 Nets

Bardle 2 Bowling
Loxley 2 Bowling

6 Nets

Bardle 1 Stamina
Loxley 1 Stamina

4 Nets

Bardle 1 Fielding
Loxley 1 Fielding

2 Nets

Aldred 1 Bowling
Gowshall 1 Batting

That should work.

BTW, anyone want a friendly tomorrow?

Gowshall's batting is because I don't want his consistency to carry on spiking as that means unneccesary outgoings.

I want Bardle's consistency to keep going.

Marc has a point, if you think about it. Batsmen having been in for 40 overs, best bowlers coming back for end and anyway, I'd flipping take 9.3 an over in a OD game from the last ten.

Are you mad?
If you're on 250 or 300 etc. after 40 overs then the bowling is obviously tripe. If having batted for 40 overs is such a factor then why does D/L give them such a high resource percentage for the last 10 (32.1, which is higher than 1 wicket lost, 2 wickets lost etc.)?

For the record D/L predicts 144.6... for the last 10 for 306-0 which is by no means that out of the question (Australia scored 133 after being 301-2 off 40) although obviously that sort of score is generally out of D/L's standard sort of scores that the percentages are used for. 113.0... off the last 10 for 252-2 after 40.

Still, it's not like D/L is based on reality now is it...

For the record, i agree with Scaly about the last 10 being incredibly unrealistic, but we know that now so there's no need to go on about it every week

ive made a pact with myself to improve my secondries
So have i thats why i brought in a couple players and being training up my players in fitness and fielding. With my latest two signings i got my stamina up to 50 and consistency up to 48, but my concentration still 41. Overall that averages out to feeble to mediorce, which isn't great but a lot better then what it was when i first started.

Anyway if your looking for some players who have ok secondaries i have a couple on the market:

Hemachandra Luxman
