I think I've cracked the PR thing - note that these only work for ecstatic sponsors' confidence (and there might be sublevels to that as well). This has worked for all the data I have so far though.

1 PR: income = 13.52 * (number of members) + 6760 -1
2 PR: income = 14.88 * (number of members) + 7440 -1
3 PR: income = 16.08 * (number of members) + 8040 -1
4 PR: income = 17.12 * (number of members) + 8560 -1
5 PR: income = 18 * (number of members) + 9000 -1
6 PR: income = 18.72 * (number of members) + 9360 -1
7 PR: income = 19.28 * (number of members) + 9640 -1
8 PR: income = 19.68 * (number of members) + 9840 -1
9 PR: income = 19.92 * (number of members) + 9960 -1
10 PR: income = 20 * (number of members) + 10000 -1

You can express that in a neat formula if you can be bothered, the patterns are fairly obvious.

I've posted the formula on JFW and given props to you and SP.

In case anyone's wondering...

for n PRs, Income = [12 + n*1.52 - T(n-1)*0.16] * (number of members) + [6000+n*760-T(n-1)*80] - 1

T = triangular number

T(n-1) generally means the (n-1)th term, or the term prior to the nth term.

Triangular numbers are 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, etc.

So if you have 5 PR's, T(n-1) should be 10.

So you'd get 18 (12+7.6-1.6) * (number of members) + 9000 (6000 + 3800 - 800) - 1.

All works.

Yeah...? Not sure what you're saying - is it wrong? It's supposed to be T(n-1), not Tn, if that's what you mean.

OK, I was just wondering why you went to the trouble of explaining what triangular numbers are - I thought you were doing it for my benefit, so I assumed I must have made a mistake or something.

I can't believe I just bought this guy for 43k on a bid I made about two hours before the deadline

Rod Fu (530219)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, lively
A cautious player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: North Gardiner C.C.
Nationality: Australia
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 3,771
Wages: £729 p/w (£762)
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: respectable Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

That fills up my fifth bowling spot. I'll just put him on two fielding nets at the end of this season and start of next till he gets to at least feeble.

I thought fielding gets players concentration and consistency up?

It does. That guy has worthless consistency, and won't be getting a game until I get it up a bit more so that he can actually bowl.

Well i have this keeper in my side who i have had on fitness training all season and his concentration is still worthless, so i put him on fielding instead. I'm a bit confused now, should i keep him on fielding to get his concentration up, or what?

Cheers Adam, one of mine has now been fired!

Ok, huge final round in my league.
This is how the top 3 stands:
Code:
1. Wardys11 13 11 0 2 44 35.92
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Western Vikings 13 11 0 2 44 28.34(me)
3. dizzy 13 10 0 3 40 36.15
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. makhouls 13 0 0 13 0 -46.61(team i'm playing)
I'm confident that I can absolutely demolish makhouls, but should I bat or bowl first, which would gain me more NRR? The great thing is 1st is playing 3rd, so I'm pretty well poised to take first if - The easy way: Wardys11 lose, or if it's a tight game and Wardys11 don't gain too much NRR and i gain alot from my game. Very tense times at the moment.

Your best bet is to bowl first, knock them over for say 50, then get the runs at 10 an over, which would give you +9 NRR. It's a lot harder to do that batting first as it means you have to score 500. Of course if you bat second and your openers make a slow start then it will stuff up your NRR, but really it's the only chance you've got to overtake the current #1 team, unless they lose.

Yep, also I'd have changed the pitch to green, might be too late for that now. Green pitches tend to exaggerate the difference between sides or players, hard and fast allows most teams to get respectable scores because it nullifies bowlers to some extent - tho that might not happen if one team is so much better than the side they're playing.
