on saturday my side won quite a tense encounter with 3rd placed yodas yobos. I GFIed. Waddell (65), Hamshaw (39) and Lennon (79) were the key contributors as my side reached 257/8 from 50 overs. In reply I had them 42/3 before Oshea and Keen guided them through to 197/3 in the 41st over. Needing 61 off 57 with 7 wickets in hand, I figured the game was lost and that my hopes and dreams were in tatters. However, Jim Mutasa came into the attack and ripped Yodas to pieces. His second spell bought him figures of 16/5 off 4 overs finishing with 36/6. Yoda's were dismissed for 231 off 47 overs handing me a 26 run victory.

Yes, it was a GFI but still these are some dam fine ratings if you ask me.

Code:
          Whenuapai CC
Top Order: remarkable
Middle Order: strong
Lower Order: woeful
Seam Bowling: strong
Spin Bowling: useless
Fielding: mediocre
so for the next 4 league matches, I'm hoping to TIE at least 3 times in preparation for round 14 when I face Portland Pilots, the winner will be crown champs of III.2 NZ.

and just to add to that, its the end of daylight savings here in NZ so games will start an hour earlier from now. just wish that daylight savings would start in the UK so that games will begin 2 hours earlier.

Nice ratings, nibbs.

Had a surprisingly easy win in my friendly today, Ricky Louis having his first major test with the ball against a decent batting lineup and coming out on top:

Asterix XI - 352/2 (50 overs)
Wynand 138 (126), Malik 136 (146), Ashton 48* (25)

Groovin Ganjamon - 126/10 (34.5 overs)
Louis 6-30 (10)

Code:
           [B]Asterix XI Groovin Ganjamon[/B]
Top Order: superb strong
Middle Order: respectable respectable
Lower Order: woeful feeble
Seam Bowling: quality competent
Spin Bowling: quality useless
Fielding: mediocre respectable
That was with a near full-strength side except for the absence of Cuss, so batting ratings would hopefully be a little higher. I'll find out on Friday when I play a full-strength side I guess. Louis seems to add a level or two to my bowling ratings, first time I've got quality/quality on Normal. Hopefully he can keep putting in performances like that next season, especially in FC.

Training time. Very boring pops for me.

Joe Tebogo - 20 yo, BT Rating=4,815
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
An attacking player with feeble leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: abysmal Wicket Keeping: feeble
Batting: respectable Concentration: feeble
Bowling: worthless Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: abysmal

Michael Payton - 19 yo, BT Rating=6,247
LH Batsman, LF Bowler, strong batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A defensive player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: abysmal Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: competent Consistency: respectable
Fielding: woeful

Ah well, all working towards my grand plan... means that I can test training times as I'm going to train Payton to mediocre stamina. Also means that Tebogo could pop to Competent concentration before his pops to Proficient batting, which is good news.

Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: woeful Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: competent Consistency: quality
Fielding: feeble
Ok, so in two weeks he popped from competent to respectable with 3 nets. If he was Mediocre + 99%, that means he's jumped at least 101% in three training sessions with 3 nets. That means that the cumulative total that 3 nets gives to sublevels has to be at least 33%.. but that would mean 3 weeks for a pop with 3 nets, which it isn't...

Ok.. what the hell?

Haha what the hell?

Anyway, only had one pop here:

Joe Erasmus - 17 yo, BT Rating=5,294
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, strong batting form, strong bowling form, lively
A cautious player with feeble leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless

Bowling: respectable Consistency: feeble
Fielding: abysmal

Griffin must definetely be popping to superb next week. I've also put Canning back on to a fielding net and he should be popping in both secondaries soon (only feeble conc, mediocre cons now).

Yea I was wondering how much of a drop the nets would have now. None of my players are on more than 2 a week at present, so I couldn't really gauge anything. Think I might have switch to 5 fitness coaches or something silly on week 12/13 or thereabouts - have 3 primaries due to pop around that time, get a few key players up an extra level in stamina.

Glad I have 10 bowlers that are competent or better anyway... virtually no batting reserves worth mentioning tho.
Nice update for me.

Swagat Moodley - 18 yo, BT Rating=31,813

Pretty good week for me, I thought Sekani was close to Prof when I paid over the odds for him and he's popped in 2 weeks and I think his batting is close too. Pity his secondaries are crap.
