Up to 94 now. Rudiculous.

edit: FINALLY. After 96 runs and some 20 overs, Carmody finally broke the partnership. Woo!

edit2: FInally the innings ends, on 222 all out. This ought to be fun.

Edit:
Code:
47.2 W Prest to Unsworth
Unsworth misses the ball completely and it hits the pads. Big appeal and he's given! It looked like it pitched outside leg but TV replays show it pitched on leg stump. Fantastic umpiring.
47.1 W Prest to Blewitt
Thin edge and gone. Great take by Mcbean, diving to his left!

and
48.3 1 Woolner to Bhate
Woolner looks livid after that inside edge just misses the stumps.
48.2 4 Woolner to Bhate
Very cheeky! He's got inside the line and gently lifted the ball over the keeper for four runs.
48.1 4 Woolner to Bhate
He seems to be batting by numbers. We’ll have a four this time please!!!

End of Over 48: 264-4, runrate=5.50, reqrunrate=11.50 (286-7)
Prest 9-0-68-2
Bhate* 50 (37 balls)
Byron 5 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Unsworth lbw b. Prest 0 (FOW: 254/4)
and now
Code:
49.2 1 Prest to Byron
Flicked around to the region of deep backward square for the single.
49.1 1 Prest to Bhate
Nicely worked around the legs to deep square leg.

End of Over 49: 275-4, runrate=5.61, reqrunrate=12.00 (286-7)
Woolner 10-1-61-0
Bhate* 60 (42 balls)
Byron 6 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Unsworth lbw b. Prest 0 (FOW: 254/4)
And Drunk XI take it out and win by 2 runs
they'll be painting the town green tonight

Guys, how long should it take for a 19 year old to pop in batting on two nets? Griffin's been on strong for what I think is 8 weeks now, so I think he should pop pretty soon, am I right?

Looks good, but he gets spanked around in league games, probably due to his stamina.
Looks like a low Remarkable, but still a remarkable is a remarkable. How much is going for

£1.75m (hasn't had a bid yet). Could be around mid-remarkable depending on how many nets he's had, minimum wage for a remarkable is about £8,500. Just needs a lot of stamina.

+ the standard of 17yr olds next season. Because obvioulsy you cant just chuck a thousand nets on one player which will reduce the quality of upcoming new players.

Fitness won't be that much of a problem for NT/U19 players next season as they won't play FC matches, so they shouldn't be much worse off than other players. I don't think wages will be a huge problem either except for wicketkeepers. I doubt there will be many single-skilled players with wages over 20,000, and most clubs can afford that fairly easily. Depends on how much secondaries add to the wage I suppose.

What I'm doing with Bardle(17yo proficent) is resting him a lot, playing just 1 match a week, and giving him 4 nets.

It's gonna be a while until I get him up to a level where I can drop a fielding net or something.

He's still popping so fast though, that it's hard to tell when that'll happen.

Yeah secondries will be interesting as many players have very high secondries, and probably many players will be very expensive. What do you think about next seasons youngins adam

Yeah, ive got two relatively good young guys who need heaps of training. Can't play them for a while because Stamina takes so long to train, but its a small sacrifice as currently i can afford to do so, in the knowledge that im not going to win my league- or have a chance

I don't think it will kill off heavy training of youngsters completely, there are a lot of teams at the moment who still do well without having to use their NT players at all (especially in lower divisions).

What it will probably mean though is that ten nets on one player will become impossible to maintain unless he doesn't play at all. From what I've seen, ten nets results in a three to four level fitness drop (I'm not convinced that this is working properly though, as Cloete's player hardly dropped at all), and players don't seem to recover that much fitness over a week, so it will be practically impossible to improve fitness without reducing training. Still, it should mean that there are very few players who will ever reach elite primaries, which is a good thing IMO.
