Yes, I've been giving a 21yo one primary net since the start of this season. 15-16 weeks for a pop for him. If you look at the second primary net for a 17yo, you're getting something like 70% efficiency, so looking at that second net in isolation you're getting a pop every 16-17 weeks with zero secondary training.
A 17yr old pops in 12 weeks with one net, and 7 in two nets. Thats 5 weeks off. I still don't see why you would want to give someone of that age one net

11-12 weeks actually. Lets put it this way, there are two players who start off at 17yo with the exact same stats, player A and player B. Player A has 2 nets in batting when he's 17, 1 net at 18, 19, 20. Player B has 1 net at 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. At the age of 22 Player B has 1-2 weeks better batting skill and has 2-3 levels higher concentration despite receiving the exact same number of sessions over the previous 5 seasons/years.

Am playing Rob's team in a friendly, won the toss and batted first.

End of Over 39: 198-2, runrate=5.08
Mills 10-1-33-2
Griffin* 46 (57 balls)
Drench 9 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Birchall c. Gray b. Mills 83 (FOW: 186/2)

Drench playing pretty slow again, it's really starting to annoy me. That said, he did just hit a four. Mills, who seems to be his best bowler just finished his 10 (2/33) so it should hopefully be fairly clear sailing for the last 10.

Bugger, wickets falling pretty rapidly here. Just lost Drench (25) and Nomvete within six balls of each other (although Nomvete still had time to hit a six and a four).

End of Over 44: 243-4, runrate=5.52
Gill 7-0-51-1
Griffin* 60 (69 balls)
Canning 0 (0 balls)

Am still hoping for 300, although the wickets in hand could be an issue.

Damn...

I stupidly put Bunt (worthless bat, conc) in ahead of Heard (abysmal bat, feeble conc).

End of Over 50: 293-8, runrate=5.86
Gill 10-0-72-3
Bunt* 5 (10 balls)
Giles 12 (10 balls)

Ended up having two consecutive overs in which I lost two wickets, with Griffin out for 66 off 74, although both overs went for over 10.

Was it batmen who needed concentration and bowlers consistency or the other way around?
Nope, it's not the other way round, you're right there.

Exactly. And fielding improves fielding (obviously) so it's better for your average (non-keeping) player

And that finishes it.

Magical Ponies wrap up a 77 run win in the 43rd over.
Rob started out strong (after 7 overs they were 1/67), but they kept losing wickets, especially when Giles came on and took wickets 4 and 5 in one over.

Magical Ponies 8/293
Birchall 83 (116), Griffin 66 (74), Sutton 37 (47)
Payton 3/59, Mills 2/33, Gill 3/72

Robertinho Select XI 216 (43.3)
Houlihan 67* (74), Arnison 41 (45), Tebogo 24 (34)
Giles 4/19 (6.3), Dunne 3/42 (10), Canning 1/41 (10)

Canning impresses with the ball on his first match for the Magical Ponies

Magical Ponies Robertinho Select XI
Top Order: competent competent
Middle Order: feeble feeble
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: mediocre mediocre
Spin Bowling: mediocre proficient
Fielding: woeful feeble

MOTM: Giles

Looks like Rob was unlucky to lose

Here's my YP, used 35 ITS on him. 12xbatting, 12xbowling, 5xstamina, 3xfielding, 2xconsistency, 1xconcentration.

Code:
Lennox Rudi (445183)
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh
A defensive player with feeble leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: Asterix XI
Nationality:	West Indies
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating:	4,993
Wages:	£554 p/w

Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: mediocre Concentration: worthless
Bowling: competent Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: competent
I guess he started with worthless batting and something like woeful bowling. I'd love to keep him and train him but he's not good enough to justify having in the nets ahead of my other players, so I'll just flog him on the transfer market. He's probably quite low in both primaries judging by the wage. If he was respectable/respectable or something I'd probably keep him.

I don't see why people are complaining that the new youth academy costs too much. If you put 12 ITS into batting and bowling it seems that you're guaranteed at least a mediocre/mediocre, which for a 17yo generally gets you 100k minimum on the market, usually a lot more. Given that it only costs 48k to get that many ITS, it's not a bad deal. I think anyone who's stopped putting money into the academy is missing out on easy money.

I thought your batsmen would have been, but I figured Mills would have been on defensive given his figures.
