Oh, the arrogance!

Like going to the same school as him gives you a better idea of how good he is at footy?!

Btw, Judd played for Caulfield in the same year! Would have been interesting seeing the xav - caulfield match, two stars in the making :D
*It doesn't give me a better idea, but someone was intimating that I didn't rate Ball, and I'm saying that I've seen enough of Ball, as I've watched him play footy since 2001, to realise that he's very adept at getting the hard ball, and at football in general.
*When Xavs played Caulfield in 2001, when Judd was in Year 12 and Ball Year 11, Judd had just done his shoulder the week before and had to have a reconstruction, and Ball was injured and played the whole game in the forward pocket. Xavs won by 4 pts. I'm sure it would hav been the same if Judd had have played....

I just think they have a lot of players, especially in the midfield, who are more willing to take a handball receive than get the hardball themselves, which is the way that you win finals if you look at the blueprint set by all teams who have been successful in finals, eg. nth melb in the 90's, ess in 00, brisbane 01-03, and port last year. e.g.
- Harvey isn't up to that sort of game in his old age
- Dal Santo's great once he gets the ball, but most of the time someone has to give it to him
- Powell's a frontrunner
- Aussie Jones, running round the back of blokes to take a handball all day
- Cain Acland is their only real recognised ruckman (Blake's hopeless), and I think we've seen from Keating and Barnes how important they are come finals time

For me they are a team that loves to bully a team, especially when they get off to a great start, but they're not all that good in a close game where momentum swings. Once the game moves away from them, they find it very hard to change it, mostly because they have guys who aren't prepared to get the ball themselves when things aren't going their way.
First of all, I know that St. Kilda was really hurt today by missing players, and the injuries that were sustained during the match. However...

I thought today was a perfect example of how St. Kilda are awesome at being out in front and showing the way, but once things turn against them they struggle at turning the tide. And today, the problem wasn't their gun midfielders being tired and fatigued from a lack of rotation - Ball had 14 touches in the last quarter, Dal Santo was awesome all day. It was the lack of application and poor decision making by a number of players *cough* Clarke brothers *cough* but seriously, more than them too, which displayed that under pressure, their game does tend to go to water.

What a great game. I thought Swans would play their usual boring style, but at times, especially in the last quarter, their play really flowed. Excellent game from hopefully new full time captain Kirk. I'm VERY happy :D :D

Possibly as a bit of an on-field answer to Andrew Demitreou's comments earlier this week about them playing 'boring' football

Seven-zip for West Coast. Im over the moon.. bit of a funny old game today, the Hawks played really well at times. Chad Fletcher invincible yet again, even with a dodgy head :p heheh. He's consistantly impressive.

Loving Richmond atm, too... Nathan Brown is too good.

Was at the game actually, I went to the game with a friend and his aunty and uncle who are Lions fans, and personally I don't see what is so great about Akermanis nor Voss and if it weren't for Brown, well maybe they be with Collingwood at the bottom of the table.

As a person who isn't a big AFL fan I found the game very quick and it was over before I noticed it, and I loved the atmosphere, and how the crowd gets behind their team. I had the luxery of sitting right behind the goal (we were sitting in between the minor goal mouth) which put us close to the action.

It wasn't too bad, but I think I will stick to rugby league or rugby.
