Anyone happen to watch the first 10 minutes of the Crows-Blues game? Surely the most one-sided passage of football I have ever seen. 5.2 to no score, Carlton didn't go inside 50 and only took the ball forward of halfway once. Unbelievable.
Funny how every Crows game recently aside from last week has taken the same pattern. Adelaide dominate the first term, get a big lead, opposition fights back in the second term and the game is alive at half time, then it dies in the second half. Against Port, Adelaide led by 26 at quarter time, 3 at half time, and won by 50. Against the Kangaroos, Adelaide led by 49 at quarter time, 24 at half time, and won by 56. And today, 40 at quarter time, 21 at half time and won by 64.
Anyway, it wasn't a great game, but Carlton did pretty well considering the gap in class and kept it alive for a fair while. Craig played Johncock and McLeod in the midfield all day and they were the best players on the ground and had 30 odd touches, Goodwin was great as usual, Bassett and Rutten were solid and Hentschel showed glimpses of talent. Ricciuto was terrible and looks way below top fitness, but he still kicked 3 goals. Lappin was great for Carlton, Prendergast and Murphy were good, and Fevola is the most undisciplined player in the AFL.
