Have you ever seen a game Steds?

And Yes, big Bruce behind the mic will be great. I'm going to miss Commetti though, he's an absolute legend. I think Channel Nine have done brilliantly with the AFL.

But the sheer thought of hearing Bruce say "Speeeeeeeeeeecial" after all these years makes me tingle.

We get highlights shows and delayed (read a week late) coverage of some games, but not regularly (read only when they're getting really desperate that there's no other sport to cover) and at funny times, like 2pm on Friday, when I'm at college. So yes, but not alot.

...might write to Sky Sports about it.

I'd love to see this bloke riding the boundary again ...

Chances of that happening though?

Hopefully. It will be so cool to have him, Sandy Roberts and Bruce all together. Seven was always the home of football, its what we all grew up watching and I cant wait till next year. Nine have done a dreadful job in my opinion, they just dont have the love of the game that Seven had.

Yeah, it's almost too slick in a way. That's why I love JB commentating, you can tell that he has geniune interest, and is trying to commentate about the game, not commentating to make you excited when there's actually not much to be excited about, or to oversensationalise and create news stories.

I was just listening to the anzac day game yesterday on Triple M, now that was the most sensationalised, over-exaggerated, trumped up performance ever. They just scream and shout at everything, really lame. Prefer the AM channels anyday.

I would've liked to see nine and seven strike a deal, not ten and seven. Ten is terrible, shocking commentators. 3AW with Rexy and the boys owns all.

Agreed. If theres anyone Id like to push off a cliff, followed by said person being impaled on a fence post, itd be Robert Walls.

But Bruce! Looking forward to it.

I like Robert Walls, a true Carlton hero. He also writes very well although perhaps abit too critical at times. However he is shockingly boring on TV, especially on talking footy.

Its not Talking Footy passag, its 'On The Couch' ;)

Anyway I think Malcolm Blight is the worst commentator on 10. Walls is decent enough, whilst Hudson and Lane do a good job IMO.

I actually really like Blight. He usually has some interesting comments. I generally like Walls as well, while Hudson and Lane annoy me. :p

On 9, I like Cometti and Brereton more than the rest, but generally I think the commentators on 9 are pretty good.

Sorry, they are just as boring as each other though.

Cometti is all class whereas Brereton really gives an insight into the game.

You know you only like Blight because he coached Adelaide to two AFL premierships, because he is an absolutely shocking commentator. He's woeful and some of his theories are so stupid. Especially the '3 goal theory' which is just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

At least he admitted he had egg on his face when he wrote Richmond off against Brisbane whilst Quartermain gave us a chance. Brereton on Triple M also had egg on his face too though.

I respect Blight as a coach, but I just can't imagine how anyone would like him as a commentator.

Admittedly I haven't heard a great deal of him, as he usually only seems to commentate in finals aside from the odd game, but I've never thought he was particularly bad. He certainly doesn't annoy me like Lane or Brayshaw do.

Brereton might just look good because he's so much better than Lyon, but I find him entertaining and reasonably insightful. Occasionally he obsesses over pretty insignificant things, but generally I think he's a better commentator than most, and I'm always pleased when I notice that he's commentating.

Blight is woeful, no wonder he refused to go on the footy show in the 90's, which resulted in 'Get Blighty'. Brereton is a bone head in my opinion, although more learned footy fans can understand him most of the time, the regular joe has no idea what he's talking about, way too complex. SOS is shocking too. JB is a gun, Lyon isnt bad at all, one of the best brains in the business.
