4th Match - Australia v England

How the heck did we win that with that lineup?
England is one of the worst ODI teams in the business. See their world cup performance, beaten early on. They are basically a minnow- almost. The bowling attack is seriously a joke in limited overs.

Mark Wood , Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse were absolutely under par today
The first two are extremely injury prone and not quite up to their level before the injuries. Each injury declines a player, plus the age factor. Wood is 35..Dont think hes test material anymore based off this performance, neither is Archer

The last name is more of a test match type bowler, red ball not white ball- his average in white ball is poor and not world class, he averages circa 40 in white ball, but his average in red ball is excellent, under 20 which only a select group of bowlers are at(e.g. Bumrah, Scott Boland)

Whatever it takes!!!
Cant believe they keep benching Mahmood. He woud be an asset, I feel. Carse is fine but seems to be carrying an injury and Jofra seems to pull up sore everytime has to run around the outfield. And Wood is Wood. Would be far better if they had Topley, Mahmood, Carse, Sam Curran, Rashid and a second spinner in the line up.

Why is Mark Wood so protected?

The guy is averaging 40+ with the ball over a long period of time ..Usually the English media have a lot to say about players but never Wood, it might actually be beneficial for someone to call him out, you want someone who can hit 150+ to bowl angry.

Actually that tends to be more in the 80–85 range.
for a fast bowlers career i implied..lol. Theres like a grand total of 0 express fast bowlers in the history, that had long careers in ODI after age 35. Dont know what england are thinking. They should be blooding youngsters for the next major tournaments, not keeping injury prone very old guys like Wood there.

He's the happy go lucky court jester. Press love him, great value etc.

Wood's absolutely still an asset for Tests if he can stay fit.

He's just never been any good at the 50 over format except, fortuitously, for the 2019 World Cup exactly.

But the last 6 years of the England ODI side has been all about trying to recreate the 2019 side on pure vibes, without any of the investment or long term planning that went into assembling the 2019 side. So Wood is in and unquestionable.
