Thorn Parkes getting bowled on 97 attempting the reverse sweep is one for the cricket purists to get upset about!
I'm also upset about this terrible pun on the NZC site.

Him and Sears opening the bowling with Jamieson and O'Rourke coming on as 1st and 2nd change would be ***y af

We're northern and centrals near identical innings the result of some kind of attempt to go for first innings points? Seems to have backfired massively

Plunket Shield race might be over, Wellington adding to their 'almost comeback of the century' win over Canterbury last week by having ND 5-50 on a green Basin Reserve wicket.
Hmm nope, huge ND comeback on the back of O'Donnell and Hamption, and looks like Wellington will need 300 ish to win. Though this might be a classic Basin pitch that only ever gets flatter, maybe they need 500 to be safe.

An interesting 1st session now, NDs last 3 wickets could add 10 or 100 - Clarke can bat, Wagner can hit.

Should be a cracking final hour of play tomorrow with ND needing 3 wickets with 32 runs to defend.
Conditions are not in Wellington's favour. They've only just back out onto the field and have already lost a wicket.

EDIT: Not sure what happened with Younghusband's dismissal. Initially given not out, the umpires convene for a minute and then he's given out. Presumably caught, not the Lbw as recorded currently on the scorecard.

Bizarre. It was a clear "catch", so perhaps umpire turned down what he thought was an lbw appeal, then ND fielders said "but he hit it", then umpire consulted second umpire about hearing 2 sounds or 1 sound? I don't what other useful info the second umpire could have given to help change the decision.

Hazeldine gets Stackpole again.

That's an epic win for ND. O'Donnell taking two blinders in the slips to go with his 150.

Foxcroft's FC bowling record is starting to become seriously noteworthy. His batting prospects may have been irreversibly damaged by those 2 years stuck in SA, but his bowling seems to have come along massively.
